Republican party gets hammered in elections last week. Conveniently now, he wants to take money US consumers paid due to the tariffs and "give it to the people". Sounds like trying to buy votes in the midterms

frick that. Pay down the debt. I have never got a stimulus check and the fact they handed that shite out during Covid pisses me off. This is even worse

Me either and I agree with you. Guessing the effect on inflation would not be good.

The question is, how much will it cost us? 5M?

thats not that big of a deal b/c its going to go back in the system and some can use it this time of year with cost of basic goods going up.

The key is the message behind it and Republicans always screw that part up.

You know what cost a lot?

8 to 9 billion dollars a month to support 42 million people on welfare.

So let's send out more welfare!

$75k for single and I think 100k for couple according to something I saw. So, the folks paying the way for the low income get nothing while do nothings get more.

In 2025 that is not high earning. That’s barely middle class even in LCOL areas. .

That's nice.

How about downsizing the IRS? Going to a flat tax or graduated tax system we'd all benefit from?

For decades, Americans have wrestled with a tax system that feels more like a maze than a fair process. The IRS has grown into a massive bureaucracy, costing billions to operate while leaving taxpayers frustrated with endless forms, loopholes, and confusion. Imagine replacing that system with something simple, transparent, and predictable — a flat tax where every dollar is treated the same, or a graduated tax with clear brackets that everyone can understand.

haven’t seen one indication that the debt is being reduced. Please show me some statistics showing that it is. He should just pay the debt down with the tariff tax instead of giving out more “free” money

A segment I saw on CNBC reported that October 2025 saw the largest single month increase to the national debt. There’s no real concern about lowering that number.

but it would be way better to pay off the damn debt and balance the fricken budget.

ALL in! Take the tariff funds and apply them dollar for dollar to the debt. It is good for us now and our kids in the future. Reduce the foreign influence on our finances by reducing WHO & HOW much is held by other countries.
