Governments worldwide print money and buy each other's bonds..

It's been going on for awhile. The proverbial can that's being kicked truly boils down to this one thing.

If gets worse when no one buys the bonds and the government or reserve bank is forced to buy it’s own bonds backed by paper.

The collapse of the fiat system is coming, slowly but unwavering in its destination. All of the "experts" say that all of the fiat currencies are on the way out. The canary in the coal mine is Japan. Theirs is the first domino to fall.

Have yall ever read about the geniuses running the place and their collective subscription to Modern Monetary Theory (MMT)?

Economist

You need a sub to read it^^, but AOC and Bernie are believers cited.

Investopedia

quote:

Modern Monetary Theory (MMT) posits that sovereign governments can print money for spending without relying on taxes.

Government spending is constrained only by real resources, not by deficits, according to MMT.

Critics argue MMT underestimates inflation risk and economic complications.

MMT suggests taxes manage inflation, challenging traditional tax-spending roles.

MMT is cited in policy debates about funding public programs like universal healthcare.

These are the retards running our policies, which is as far from Austrian economics as we can get.

They base their theory on fiat currency value being psychological, but then refuse to apply that same psychology to a fiat currency created specifically to be destroyed.

Not completely true we buy way more of our own debt than other countries. So we’re not really propping anyone else up, mostly just ourselves.

And balance currencies / exchange rates so as to modulate imports/exports costs / inflation…across world.

All built around power calendar (elections in free world). Bessent says ST bonds to cover $750bln or whatever the deficit is so as to not disturb LT interest rates (mortgages) to keep voters happy.

My Civics class in HS left all this out.

Any nation using a fiat monetary system without a balanced budget mechanism to restrain out of control government spending will arrive at the same point.....insolvency, bankruptcy and financial collapse.

Yes, this is why we are doomed in the long run. Based on personal experience, collapse will happen in my lifetime because I have shitty luck.
