I am beginning to wonder if this downturn was intentional. Buffett will make bank. He just recently found himself sitting on a big pile of cash.
How convenient....

Trump has rolled out there tariffs in the most haphazard way. That’s not debatable.
Except for the facts... He put them on a deadline with what he wanted. They caved and he paused for 30 days. Some decided to not follow through so he called their bluffs. They tried to retaliate, But we hold the cards. And they all backed down.

Doug Ford backed down and said there would be no increase in electricity rates after Trump said he would double the tariff on steel and aluminum and then tariff autos at 50% to literally stop all auto manufacturing in Ontario. Canada totally blinked after Trump threatened to drop the hammer. Trump will get what he wants from Canada.

Not even close. Markets were collapsing when the White House caved.

Anybody that thinks there's some well-defined plan here is out of their fricking mind.
This is just like the first Trump administration, doing shite on the fly with massive amounts of chaos.

YOY it's 10% up.
My cash positions made only about half of that. But, I'll start selling puts against the cash when some of this downside news cycle momentum slows. My point being that I essentially bought insurance to the downside by moving cash. It seemed to me then that 2025 would be volatile to start, and I won't try to predict how bad it will get.

It’s like some of you live in an alternate reality.

Would you like news articles after news articles to prove that? Would you like to come over to the PT and run a search for how Trump uses tariffs started by Trump supporters???
Mortgage rates have dropped for the 6th straight week.
Egg prices have dropped.
China says it’s willing to cooperate with the U.S. on fentanyl.
Adults back in charge

Canada will announce C$29.8 billion ($20.6 billion) in retaliatory tariffs on the US on Wednesday, in response to President Donald Trump's steel and aluminum tariffs, a Canadian official said.

Correct.

And deal with crazy and dumb people? I would advise against it unless people have a lot of patience like me.

No, thank you. I’m looking for facts, not fan fiction.

Due to growth concerns. Congrats?

Eggs are so dumb. They weren’t Trumps fault going up or down.

Great. Currently we’re tariffing them and they’ve retaliated, so nothing has actually happened.

No you suggested people are living in an alternate reality. If that be the case, and it's not, then you should not be able to find people talking about how Trump uses tariffs.

Lol. Wow.

SMH.... seriously. This isn't hard to even look up. WSJ even had an article on Trumps 5 steps to lower the costs.
Since you may not can read the WSJ.... LINK

Yes. Something happened. They have agreed to help with the problem.

Trump's goal isn't to get it done smoothly ... or to be sensitive to allies that have been allowed by weak, bi-partisan leadership to tariff the shyte out of the US.
Trump is tasked by the American People to fix the current fiscal crisis. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
Trump's job, quite frankly, is to get it done quickly.... no matter what Wall Street thinks about it. Those money-printers are the parasites that bring down the behemoth.
