Yeah really sounds like it’s totally up to Reese.

Reese has the final say so at the end of the day.

Well Rafer is very very outspoken. He will definitely tell you how he feels.

You don’t think for one minute by going on a public tirade about Wade that he wasn’t trying to sway or influence his son ??

I definitely do. But being that Reese is 18 years old, He will be making his final decision between LSU, Louisville, Kentucky and Tenn.

Definitely true…

Also, why is his dad/your kids coach being this aggressive about all of this? He really must dislike Wade.

This came as a Total Shock to me after seeing him and Coach Wade interact this summer. Something went awry from the end of the circuit to now. I allowed my kid to play for Coach Alston because he personally recruited him to join his team. They were the 2 time defending National Champions on the PUMA PRO16 circuit. It was a chance for my kid to get great exposure in front of 100's of college coaches, so we signed up.

Doing the whole summer, it didn't seem that way at all. Between mid July and now, something drastically change. From April to July, it was constant communication between Rafer and Coach Wade that I witnessed.

So if your kid is also playing at this level, is there mutual interest with LSU?

I can't believe I'm agreeing with you Jamarr, is this really you!?

Every word of your post is correct. If you don't do what it takes to compete like the others, you WILL get your arse handed to you. Ask McMahon.

I can also corroborate Wade's a good dude. I drive for a bus company up here in Virginia that transports ODU, VCU, UR and others. Even a lot of the opponents that fly in to play the local teams.

EVERY driver I talked to said he was the nicest and most approachable coach that they'd ever driven for.

Believe me when I tell you, some coaches treat the driver like they don't even exist. I never drove Wade's team because I didn't start with the company until after he left for LSU.

He also tipped BIG.

I have 4 kids playing at that level on the PUMA PRO16 circuit. With the one that played for Coach Rafer team, there is no mutual interest with LSU even though he loves LSU. The previous staff didn't reach out. He is a 2027 recruit. 6'11.

The other 3 are class of 2029. 7'0, 7'1 and 6'9. 6'9 is a SG/SF he was offered by UNLV this summer. They were all invited and attended the LSU Elite Basketball Camp the last 2 years.

Are you some sort of agent or a high school coach?

Are you saying you have triplets 6’9” and above?

Neither. My wife and I are guardians to the kids. They are all cousins. I have coached AAU basketball for over 25 years though.
Didnt coach this year because we wanted to watch them all play. And that's why I trusted Coach Rafer with one of them when I wasn't present, to keep them damn sleazy agents away from him.

Thanks brother. I try to be and my wife and I try to set a good example for the kids. Hell, high school recruiting is worse than college lol. These prep schools are relentless man.

I’m starting to wonder if this is a smokescreen to build hype for the kid’s commitment.

It’s all an extremely strange story to be mad about Wade talking to the mom and the kid directly

will say this about Touray. He is the poster child for PUMA PRO16 for the next 2 years. He has a world of upside, His handlers will be a handful. He played for Tre Mann Elite this summer. One of my kids played alongside him. I'll say this also, his recruitment will be bigger than Reese but with MORE drama IMO. I can go deeper, but I'm not gonna do that to the kid. I just hope he get better people around him because what I saw first hand from some shady arse people involving him is ridiculous.

It's sad these "adults" take advantage of mostly innocent kids. I know Rafer Alston is from New York and always had a chip on his shoulder.

Please come back and tell us if you find out what soured his and wade's relationship like that.

Sounds like Wade cut deals through the wife & with Puma without Rafer’s knowledge. My assumption is Rafer found that disrespectful given he is the coach & basketball guy.

I disagreed with the angry locals about the particular way that mcmahon sucked. I said he had bad players because he is bad at fundraising and talent assessment. others wanted to pretend they are sophisticated X and Os people who knew McMahon was bad in that dept. I thought this was largely speaking to things they didn't know, and said so, and this meant angry loons dedicated their lives here to making up things I never said. if you pay close attention you will never disagree with me.

will wade is honest and ambitious and hard-working and friendly. he is also realistic about how things work in the modern game. McMahon was not. he just wanted to coach and not get involved in the paying bullshite. that's not how it works.

kiffin and wade understand the modern game. parts of it are unfortunate, but so be it.

there are many amazing coaches who refuse to adapt. that does not mean they are bad at in-game coaching. but that barely matters if you have no talent. wade knows this and goes to great lengths to get talent.

"you win the Kentucky derby with thoroughbreds" - will wade.
