Well it’s currently 35 straight in last nights combo. Troy and UAB are only losses in last 21 years so far.

Sigh. The one thing that last season and the first part of this season that I enjoyed was an almost complete absence of threads about, well, the threads.

LSU should look like LSU. That means canary yellow helmets and pants with either white or purple jerseys. Usually white.

That’s it. All of this alt crap is truly what looks like amateur hour.

If they do, they were on drugs. It was purple pants with white jerseys and gold hats

Because it's one of those stupid traditions that only goofballs with purple and gold panties think it's important

When LSU wears purple jerseys they should wear white helmets and white pants. To me that’s their best look when they go different.

Honestly I had thought that gold/purple/gold combo was unlucky because of our poor record in the Archer/ Hallman years, but I look over the archives since 2000, beginning with the Georgia Tech Peach Bowl game, and discovered that LSU's record is 37-0 when wearing that uniform!

Troy = purple jerseys with white pants & helmets.

LSU is 37-0 since 2000 in gold/ purple/ gold combo.

I love the purple jerseys with the white pants and white helmets, but the gold/purple/gold combo works better in the SWAC.

Many of us that were students at LSU during the latter part of the Mike Archer and Curley Hallman seasons are somewhat traumatized from the purple jerseys. I like the frequency that LSU wears the purple jersey, which is only about 2-3 times per year.

What does that mean?

You associate it with HS teams because they all try and look like LSU. Does greenway look amateurish in Yellow, Green and Yellow?

When Saban came, he felt it was disrespectful to the players from the purple jersey era to never wear purple. To honor those teams, he decided that white jerseys would be used for the first home game of the year and all SEC games. Purple jerseys would be used for all other non-conference games.

Hard to know this since we never play non power 5 teams at home anymore but we also wear white for big OOC games. We wore them against Washington in 2012

Because during the Archer/Hallman days the NCAA had a rule that you had to wear colors at home and we were not that good during that time. I like the Purple uniforms myself, but they should be reserved for occasional use only.

Bc its an LSU tradition to wear our white uniforms at home against SEC and other power 5 opponents. Thats not going to change anytime soon. Thats the reason we only wear our purple jerseys for non conference games against smaller schools like CMU for example.

I must admit that this is a good look.

But it’s not an LSU look. I’m sure some other school could do this look proud.

LSU wears canary yellow hats and pants.

As I recall, something I am less & less good at nowadays, LSU was wearing the purple jerseys when Tenn. stopped our season and a half winning streak, keeping us from back to back NC back in '59-60. The Vols had made us wear them in Neyland. So call it "tradition" or a jinx but this goes way back before Hallman's & Saban's days. I remember Deitzel being really pissed at Tenn. for yrs afterwards.
