Dan Heefner at Dallas baptist.
At-large bids from a Missouri Valley team and multiple super regional appearances.

You do realize that Paul took us to the finals last year right?

And that he brought the best recruiting class in the country in this year... right?

How about Wayne "Methuselah" Graham he's only 82 and probably has at least 15 - 20 more years left and a proven record.

Are all obviously good candidates that would be tough gets

Ill throw in an under appreciated coach in my opinion is todd whitting at houston. Also like someone else mentioned, lets see what vitello does with the vols, he has a pretty solid track record at tcu and arkansas.

Mainieri isn't going to retire anytime soon so it's tough to say right now and what the landscape will look like when that time comes

O Sullivan would be my top choice

Lol he's the whole nations top choice and arguably the best coach in CBB. He's about to get a new ball park and isn't going anywhere. Maybe think out of the box

We all get that he's the top candidate, but that doesn't mean LSU shouldn't kick the tires.

Also, the OP didn't ask who we thought was a reasonable replacement, just who we wanted. Sullivan should be right at the top of most people's list in this case.

I'd like to see LSU hire Skip Bertman as a consultant and then have him interview candidates and make a recommendation on whom to hire to the LSU President and AD serving at that time.

Nobody said LSU can't try but if everyone said the obvious answer the thread would die on the first page. There's no thought in that answer

Sullivan was only mentioned twice on the first page and one of them was me saying LSU should make him say no, which he likely would. After Sullivan there are, literally, dozens of candidates and many of them were listed.

It's actually been a decent thread considering it's a hypothetical scenario.

I do like Blake but maybe in 20 years and a couple trips to Omaha in his resume.
If we wait that long, we may not be able to pry him away from wherever he's coaching. Like Mike Bianco.

Plus, I'll be dead in another 20 years, so maybe none of that will matter.
