None, and there never could be. How do you prove you didnt molest someone. Seriously?

Ok and that’s fine. But not sure I’d spend hours each of the last two days defending it like you have when there isn’t evidence to disprove the claim.

He doesn’t need to be condemned but it’s probably best to not even engage to begin with.

If vitello or mcdonnell had a player on their team with the same issues from when they were 15 the whole damn board would give them a pass. This board has lost it’s damn mind lately.

The only evidence I guess is that Heimlich did pass four separate lie detector tests

So there you go, there is the evidence he is innocent. Also the mother changing the story from multiple incidents, to one, to multiple, to back to one

Yes she changed the story four times. Also, this is graphic, but there was no physcial signs of sexual trauma, the little girl was still intact there

So, I mean, what little evidence there is seems to point towards innocent no?

Isn't that funny a judge will let a 6-7 yr old girl live and have contact with the family of the guy that molested her rather than her own mother....weird.

Yep, I'm fairly well convinced he didn't "Molest" the little girl.

Sounds like an overly zealous parent out of control.

Heimlich has denied every allegation since day 1.

Bull shite.

He pled guilty to molesting a child. Heimlich acknowledged guilt in his own handwriting. He stated, “I admit that I had sexual contact” [with the girl].

The pedophile pled guilty to the sexual abuse after working out a plea deal with his private attorney, in open court, before a judge, denying that he had been coerced or promised anything in exchange for his plea.

At the age of 21, Heimlich wrote, ““I have taken responsibility for my conduct when I was a teenager… I understand that many people now see me differently, but I hope that I can eventually be judged for the person I am today.”

Strangely a year later, after being undrafted and ignored, he chose a different strategy. He changed his story and claimed that he pled guilty to “quickly dispense with the case and the sake of family relations.”

He totally owned his child molestation throughout the process until he was ignored by MLB.

What about a person that had a GF beater? Or 80 y/o security guard sexual harasser? I mean Orgeron should be fired if that is your criteria a-hole.

He did this after he went to the original plea hearing thinking he was going there to plea not-guilty as part of the plea deal. They had to move the date because the lawyer confused the family about exactly what he was admitting to. They found out after that original hearing that he had to make that statement to get the deal.

This case was based on nothing besides him saying he didnt do it, and the girls mother saying he did. Remember the girl herself said she didnt recall it

No. The investigators were relying on statements from the girl.

The young victim had reported Heimlich’s abuse to her mother, and the father later contacted authorities, according to a probable cause document filed by prosecutors.

The girl told investigators that inside Heimlich’s bedroom, he pulled down her underwear and “touched her on both the inside and outside of the spot she uses to go to the bathroom,” according to court records.

“She said that she told him to stop, but he wouldn’t,” the documents state, and that “it hurt” when he touched her.

Prosecutors initially charged Heimlich with two counts of molestation for incidents between September 2009 and September 2010, and between September 2011 to December 2011. In Washington, child molestation in the first degree is a Class A felony.

“She said that the first time the respondent touched her she was four years old and that she was six years old the last time he did this,” according to court records.

Investigators were absolutely not relying solely on statements from the mother.

I’ll bet you can’t provide a link to support this.

Lie detector was not in reference to the alleged incident. It was about if any other incidents had happened with other young girls. I think it’s funny that posters complaining about blaming the child molester without all the information are defaming the mother of the abused child with even less information.

“Three months after the girl's first mention of illicit contact, in the fall of 2009, her mother and father, one of Luke's brothers, finalized their divorce after seven years of marriage. The mother insists that a custody dispute had no bearing on the accusations, saying that she never raised concerns about Luke and her daughter in custody proceedings. Luke's brother has maintained majority custody ever since. He was the one who, after questioning his daughter in 2011, initiated what would become legal action against Luke by taking her to a Child Advocacy Center, where he shared her accounts and allowed a forensic interview. He and Luke have barely spoken since. Asked if such silence indicates that his brother doesn't believe him, Luke said, "I don't know."

Absolutely didn't happen....and not what he pled to.

Right, he was fingering a 4 year old. I guess that's better? But it sure is pretty sick and this coach let him stay on the team after he pled guilty.

Is anyone OK with that? I am not.

He didn’t HAVE to hit women. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have had to plea a damn thing. He was in the situation because of his actions. He also was a raging alcoholic.
How about his no background checking arse self hiring a convicted felon as his right hand man?

The rant has become a cesspool and many of them don’t bat an eye at rape or other violent crimes so why would they care about a child molester?

Vet is simply an idiot. I think people on both sides of the argument would admit to that. There is so much false information being thrown around on here in regards to what actually happened. For those who think he’s guilty bc he had to admit to it as part of the plea deal, you know nothing about how our legal system works.

Someone else quoted an article written by Decaro (former female lawyer, now sports writer). I would suggest going to the link posted below to see the counter argument against her.

I think the kid is innocent. I don’t have much doubt about it really. However, I still completely understand the PR issues that hiring Casey would bring about, so not sure it’s the best decision from that perspective. Personally, I’d say screw the mob mentality and hire the guy if he was the best coach for the job. However, his lack of ties to the south cause concern for me as well.
