SEC Bias.
They've complained since the bowl seedings came out that ESPN rigged it so an SEC team would be in the championship. They all claimed to be disrespected, even though every team they played except OSU was hot garbage.

247 published an article ranking all ten conferences. The ACC was #5, with the caveat that without Clemson, they’d be behind the American and possibly also the Mountain West.

Clemson is the only reason the ACC ranks above the American. Seriously. The AAC was that bad in 2019. The Big 12 and Pac-12 didn’t exactly kill FBS competition, but those leagues finished with a winning record in non-conference play. The ACC couldn’t even do that! By the way, the ACC’s bowl results look a heck of a lot less impressive when you consider two of its wins came against G-5 competition (Eastern Michigan, Temple). Another came against Mississippi State, which was frankly a mess.

If the 2 teams played 10 times Clemson would win at least 8... maybe 9. But since it was only one time, and Clemson got boatraced, it HAD to be an outlier.

Win or lose... no excuses needed by either team. Clemson has won 29 straight... nothing to apologize for if they don't make it to 30.
LSU has played an extremely difficult schedule to get here. If they lose they have nothing to be ashamed of.
Whoever wins this game deserves it... regardless of calls, controversy, etc. You can't get lucky if you aren't good enough to make it to the game.

I will offer no excuse. Will come on here and tell you the better team won and congratulations and enjoy your time on top of the mountain. It’s been fun. Ever run into any of you when I’m in Louisiana hunting or fishing buy you a beer. Here is to a hard fought injury free game.
