You obviously didn’t watch the pregame show, because it was an LSU love fest. All they talked about is what LSU needed to do to win, and what a great story they were. They barely mentioned Iowa. I was shocked, since I’ve been reading about how much they hate LSU.

Yep. She’s no better than Dawn. This win is for all the girls who look like me. Lmao

Right on! Caitlyn Clark gave as good as she got. She was a baller, and her accomplishments in this tourney speak for themselves. LSU women had an immaculate plan for her and Iowa. The shite talking on the court, that’s all part of the game. The righteous indignation is just a bunch of pussies who have never played beyond youth league.

Nah, not going to happen. Clark is too heavily invested in Iowa as a state and university.

Now Amoore from Virginia Tech, that's another story. Look for her to hit the transfer portal within the next two weeks and announce transfer to LSU 3 days later.

But that doesn't make for a compelling narrative. Talented athletes leaving it all on the court. Who wants that? Much better to stir the shite and generate DRAMA.

BTW, would love to see them play on a team together. Would be dynamic as hell.

This is the biggest overblown manufactured drama I’ve seen in college sports. A bunch of adults feeling the need to knight for Clark who seemed completely unbothered by it all.

Clark is a great player and competitor and has talked trash all season. She has the maturity to realize that it would come back to her at some point.

As with many things, the people who need a good side and a bad side instead of just enjoying the action are the villains.

This is overblown. Wish we were talking about team championship more.
Accustomed to men talking trash, more so in pros than college.
Accustomed to trash being talked when the game is on the line, not to gloat when it is out of reach.
Clarke and Reese did the same thing, although Reese was more blatant and the game was out of reach.
Interesting to me that Reese went to the same place Staley did (except Staley lost) on being called "too ghetto".
I doubt anybody used those terms, but what are people saying that make players/coaches THINK they are saying "too ghetto"?

It’s low class when anyone does it after you’ve won, unless they’ve been in your face telling you you’re garbage. People can talk smack in a friendly way, but people just take it too far. Had Iowa win, and Caitlin had done that to one of our girls, I would’ve been livid!

Disagree. If you don't like people shite talking then don't give them the opportunity.

With the victor come the spoils.

People get too uptight these days with this kind of stuff. Get over it, it's a game.

Well, Rog, I tend to agree. Racialist (race-centric ) comments are disgusting to me, especially in sport. I hope someone tells her she is an inspiration to ALL girls, not just ones who look like her. If I made a similar comment to white kids it would be a national incident. The double standard is garbage. I was limiting my comments to the mutual trash talking that happened on the court. Where both were heroines, despite the shite talking.

Her speech afterwards was pathetic. She said "Ya'll called me ghetto all season, this is for all the girls who look like me." Went total victim, blamed racism and did indeed act ghetto by blaming everyone else.

I agree with all this.

On top of that, I have a very hard time believing the press called her “ghetto” all season (or even once, really). I think that was some lame justification she made up in her own head.

This is the thing here. All the virtue signalers criticizing Reese while portraying Clark is the innocent victim never played any sports or even watched much.

And here is my problem: I don't think, but for those who already hated LSU because of Kim Mulkey, that anyone thinks Clark is an innocent victim, and that it's all about Reese. So for Angel to respond that this is about the way she looks, is really what disappoints me about this. That's just not true, and there was no need to go there. She's convinced herself that she's the only one who ever gets criticized.

All the people virtue signaling for Reese, are ignoring this point. I still love Angel, and I don't think she's a bad person. But I'm not going to make excuses about the things I disagreed with.

Its basketball. I love the trash talk in sports. The greatest shite talker arguably in basketball history is a white dude (Bird). I love it

I think any of those guys following around a defeated opponent for extended (more than a moment) period of time trying to get in their face to taunt them would face criticism. It’s the following Clark around that made Reese look bad.

It’s so insane that people are saying it’s because she’s black.

Did she? I don't remember her following Clark around. Just watched the clips of the trash talking and didn't notice it then either.

Somebody on MSB linked to a Facebook video comparing Clark’s taunting to Reese’s. Reese definitely followed her around when Clark was trying to ignore it.
