Unless it is your child’s wedding, you do not need to attend.

If it’s your wedding, do not need to attend.

My wife wanted to get married during football season. So I knew LSU always has open date before Bama, so I convinced my wife to get married on the 30th because it would be right before her favorite holiday, Halloween. Til this day she doesn’t realize what I did.

Definitely not a must attend situation. I have zero friends who would blame me for skipping that shite.

That said, unless it's a full mass ceremony, you should be able to catch most of the game anyway. Definitely skip the reception (loudly) unless it's at a sports bar.

Not if you are Catholic!

I was aggravated when my wife reminded me there is an Oktoberfest event on Saturday at a local brewery that will cause me to miss the 1200 games, but the weather will be nice, we know one of the bands, and it will buy me time as it will count as a date!, so i'll take it, if it was at night or late afternoon start, it would be a hard no and she could go alone, but she knows that!

As a matter of personal policy I only attend weddings that I’m a member of the wedding party.

Is it your sibling, son, or daughter? If not, call in sick to the wedding. Sick of people not planning better

It’s the son’s fault.

My wife and I got married the week after the SEC Championship game and before bowl season. LSU had never even made it to Atlanta when we set the date. You just can’t have a wedding on Saturdays in the fall. It’s unfair to family and friends.

Good news - my sauces list the groom as doubtful for the wedding.

We got married the weekend after the SECCG and 2 weeks before Christmas. We have friends who are fans of all different schools, so we made sure no one could say "but why did you schedule it during this game." My wife was getting frustrated with the whole thing. She wanted a fall/winter wedding and these are the rules. I told her if she wanted everyone to show up, she needed to schedule it around football games.

I’ll be at my at my awards banquet for work in the Bahamas from kickoff until the game is over

Going to watch it on my phone and hopefully don’t get bitched at.
