Dude, he is absolutely one of the best QB’s in CFB. Now he seems to have zero mobility and needs to work on pocket presence but if he comes back it is a huge deal. You people are blinded by your own ignorance.

We finally pull out of the tailspin and you want to go right back.

Nuss looked much better in the pocket last night. He stepped up - key on the fourth down to Daniels.

frick off. Wet blanket. Go be miserable elsewhere.

The flip flopping from week to week is pretty comical.

Who changed their opinion?

Could it just be that the optimists downvoted you a few weeks ago, and now they're just keeping quiet? Just because different segments of the fan base speak out louder than others from one week to the next doesn't mean fans are flip-flopping.

No fan base is just one monolithic opinion - especially not LSU's.

Nah, pretty sure anyone with half of a brain wanted Nuss back regardless of beating Vandy or not..

#1, you definitely want Nuss back

#2, obviously having him back doesn’t guarantee success. You better surround him with some better WRs, and protect him. In the off-season, you have to improve his deep ball accuracy and his footwork.

Nuss back, a clean pocket, and a solid running game is a great start. Add in a game breaker at WR and I think we’d have a really good O.

The truth is, Nuss was a dropped interception away from being Nuss again.

Are there no other QBs in the portal that can fit Sloan's system better?

Why do you keep saying “Sloans system?”
The only system Sloan had was to get Underwood and he failed.

If they get some veteran Oline in the transfer portal and bring in an experienced OC then there is no reason Nuss can’t be successful. Especially with an improved defense which I expect them to have next year.

QB's tend to take a big step forward in their second year starting. You would think our fan base, of all fan bases, would know that from recent history. And he doesn't have to be Joe burrow or Jayden Daniels to win games. He just has to make better decisions, overall, and tuck the ball and run occasionally. This season, that, along g with our lack of a running became were the biggest issues. Nuss has the tools to be a very good QB. His experience would be very valuable next year.

You can’t just make that statement like it’s fact. I can name just as many QBs that don’t take that step as I can ones that did. Just bc we have two great examples of ones stepping up in the past few years doesn’t mean that Nuss is in that category.

Personally if I was Nuss , I would seriously think about the draft.

Even despite his turnovers, this season he's put up pretty good numbers

This is a very weak QB class for the draft. His odds of going first round are pretty good

He will lose his favorite WR and TE. Not to mention have a sophomore and freshmen RBs behind him.

Also if both his tackles decided to go in the draft, why would he want to come back and get sacked more ?

What would keep him here would probably be more NIL money thrown his way to stay, now that Michigan kid flipped

Apart from the inexplicable loss to USC, lsu is having the sake kind of season as ole miss, Bama, Florida etc.

It's not beating vandy as much as it is seeing that everyone is winning and losing games no one is like they were

Anyone who doesn't want even an average 1st yr starting QB to return is a moron. When it’s a player with the raw ability of Nuss it is comical. He went 28/37 for 330 last night

Yes, it was Vandy. Its also a Vandy team with a P4 defense ranked alongside A&M and LSU.

I’ll pose the same question to you that I pose to everyone who screams “Fire Kelly!” Who do you want instead? There’s a really good chance that he’s our best option right now. Until you can give a real answer and not just “someone that fits Sloan’s system better!” you have nothing to say.

The reality is that as bad as the second half of A&M, Bama, and Florida were… Nuss has had a lot of good moments as a first year starter in the toughest conference in the country without a true #1 receiver and a running game that has struggled for 90 percent of the year. I think if he comes back, learns to handle pressure up the middle better, and we improve our playcalling he has a chance to really be elite.
