He was supposed to be the pick guy, gave half arse effort on it so it failed, leading to the INT, and then gives no effort to chase the guy down

He's really good so I hope the coach gave him an earful for that effort

Would have been a walk in TD if Winnie gives 50% effort

Pointed it out when it happened live. Completely unacceptable

Yeah, it wouldn't hurt my feelings if he had to stay late running wind sprints after practice one day. He's really fast, he could have caught that guy.

I want to see him track that dude down like DK Metcalf ran down Buddha Baker in the Seahawks vs Cardinals game.

Toubling clip. This level of effort will not cut it

He was checked out. There were a few other plays that highlighted a total lack of effort.

I was willing to give him a pass on probably not chasing down the DB with the momentum he had, but yea this was actually a terrible play by him.

First time seeing the full route

I’m sure Lane has talked to him about it

On the Eugene Wilson fumble he gave good effort just didn't finish the tackle. Its a bad look don't get me wrong but dude was clearly exhausted. I expect the Coaches will have pointed this out and will make sure he gives full effort moving forward but lets not trash the kid for one play.

Not making excuses for him, but he was open for a good 5 seconds the play before - right in front of Leavitt’s face - and Leavitt never threw him the ball.

Obviously let it carry over to the next play. It can’t happen.

If yall are complaining here then you aren't going to want to go back and watch his effort against Clemson on some plays, especially on scrambles and blocking

Wasn’t this the 20 play drive?

Lane said today the offense was gassed to at the end and had mental errors. Maybe he was pissed he ran such a lazy route. Exhausted. Who knows

Lane made an interesting point about the D getting 3and outs everytime actually wears out the offense a little bit bc they go so fast. Which is a funny problem to have.

That was a 20 play drive, i think winnie was truly out of gas.

Pretty clearly PI. But he could've given more.

The message has to be not to expect obvious penalties and to play through DBs' arms. We aren't going to get those calls all year.

It's surprising. Watkins always has so much energy and usually plays with full speed.

You just can't have effort like that.

LINK

I watched this video a month ago. It's the youtube creator Destroying, who goes and does skill position challenges at different schools...

You can see why Clark isn't starting.. even though ill be danged if he doesnt play better under the Saturday night lights...

but.. point is, watch the video. youc an tell watkins is a hard worker, and put in work the whole summer.

Not sure what was up with that play. He might have thought it was a run or something.

Not saying this is not horrible.

But he/we are lucky they this is addressable in week two vs a sec game.
