On Tuesday, NFL general managers were informed about the situation according to Rapoport. Included in the note to GMs was information that a woman Collins knew, Mills, was murdered. Mills was pregnant and the baby survived. Collins is not a suspect, and the police were trying to determine parental responsibility. The note said that Collins had not contacted Mills since September.
STFU

The note probably came from his agent or attorney...trying to get in front of the story.

He'll be back in here arguing about it again for some unknown reason.

The note came from NFL Security to the GM's of all the teams. The NFL isn't going to sit on their asses anymore after the Ray Rice situation which is why they reached out to the Charlotte police department for the evidence in the Greg Hardy trial. That evidence is what lead to Hardy's 10 game suspension. League director of security Jeffrey Miller isn't going to get caught off guard again.

Give me one more name of a person interviewed by the police other than the victim's immediate family. Why don't we know the names of all of these other people?
Because the others aren't public figures like Collins is.

Can you imagine the uproar if the police kept part of their investigation quiet because they were trying to help a guy get drafted higher???
That's not the concern of the police, which is to investigate quickly and find the murderer.
Look, I hope Collins is completely innocent, but I don't see the problem here. If Collins wasn't involved, go talk to the cops and clear yourself. Bad timing for Collins, but that's the breaks.
This was your quote. So they are only focused on finding the killer, yet they publicized Collins name because he's famous? and there would be an uproar if his name wasn't released even though no other names have been released.
Everything about this investigation is very quiet except for Collins name being out there. That really sucks for him if he isn't involved in the tragedy.

The timing of this is highly suspicious.

I'm sure the word on street is something different, right?

Hope la el isn't involved this. He has been an awesome person in the time I have known him

What motive would he have had to kill her ? It's not like he couldn't afford to support the child if it's indeed his. Who would of had reason to kill her to make him miss out on millions of dollars ? I think he may be indirectly involved in this tragedy in some way

If I was La'el, if it was possible I would withdraw from the draft and re-apply for the supplemental draft after he is cleared. I can't imagine anyone risking a high round pick on a player with this hanging over him. He may be looking at 3rd or 4th round. If cleared, he could be a first round pick again in the supplemental draft and get paid appropriately. It might be too late to withdraw, though.

Am I the only one who thinks the BRPD went about this in kind of a shitty way? If they claim he has an alibi and isn't a suspect, why do they need to make it public that they want to speak to him? Just seems a little reckless to me.

He isn't a suspect, but he could become one

I was thinking the same thing, but I'm almost positive it's too late to withdraw. Also, as a senior, he's exhausted all eligibility. If he was a junior and this happened in January, I think that would be the right strategy.

I'm thinking this might get more serious than what's being thought. Just smells funny

Rae Carruth, when I was a CU season ticket holder, was one of the nicest kids on the team. That taught me a lesson.

Does not sound good. Prayers to the family of this young woman.
