Tuck Fulane. There is no upside IMO to playing them.
Wining is what LSU should do, losing is a disaster.

You play Southeastern and McNeese for crying out loud.
If you can't see how this is good for Louisiana, I don't know what to tell you. It's a 133-year old rivalry.

I get Florida on the schedule every year but you lose me when you say Tulane. They haven't been regularly on the schedule for decades. 1993 or 1994. Thats over 30 years with them not on the schedule on a annual basis. Its been the norm to not have them. I don't want that game back on the schedule on an annual basis it means nothing anymore.

It's the state's two most important institutions (by far) and we have a 130-plus year history together.

I am not in favor of hosting Southern again.

No history the past 30+ years. Again, it doesn't mean anything anymore. My family and I were upset when it stopped 30 years ago but guess what the program grew and that rivalry faded into nothing while LSU became a power house in the 2000's. There is zero reason to put them back on the schedule on a yearly basis. Unless Tulane is able to join the SEC (which they won't be able to since they made the dumb decision to leave the conference) then there is nothing to gain from it.

I am pretty sure LSU will have to pay some sort of buy out to Tulane for the game to be in Tiger Stadium, since there was a clause in the last buyout that we "owed" them a game in New Orleans.

I'm fine with playing Tulane. As long as they come to Baton Rouge. They aren't on a high enough level to demand a home game in return. Plus LSU should never be playing in a 30k seat stadium. CFP games are the only time LSU should be playing in NOLA

Oh,yea. And playing Nichols, SE La and La Tech is just awesome.

Who is arguing for them on a yearly basis?

those are week 1 games. We now have games scheduled week 0 as well:
Aug. 28, 2027 vs Northwestern State
Aug. 26, 2028 vs Louisiana-Monroe

LSU has absolutely no control over which SEC teams we play each year. So y’all can quit yearning to play UF every year. We will play UF twice in a 4-year span.

What a dumb statement for someone who has been around long enough to know what the deal was back then. LSU got Florida, whom they had been playing every year since 1971. Bama got Tennessee, who I think they had played since 1928 with only a pause due to WW2. Florida was not a traditional power at that time, though they were looking that way under Spurrier, who had been there only two seasons before the East/West division setup began. Tennessee was a powerhouse at the time. Oh, and LSU suckd at the time.

I will gladly take Florida every other year if it means we can play every school home and away in a four year span. There is no reason it should’ve taken 15 years for LSU to return to Athens.
I'd prefer not having the sips and aggies in the SEC so we can keep Florida and Auburn on the schedule.
