It's strategy to play week zero. Then you get 14 weeks to play 12 games. 2 bye weeks

"Hate for Tulane"? Not being disrespectful but how old are you? Long time LSU fans, all sports, have multiple reasons to detest the weenies / their fans & coaches. Their baseball & softball coaches, going back years, have always taken cheap shots against LSU fans. Their football program has always demanded home & home games. Playing in the Dome has always hurt them, as they have to pay the State rent, as well not getting much in return for concessions. Plus, the last time the game was played in the Dome, LSU fans took over the Dome & the weenies ended up being the "visiting " team.

This is very good news. I just wish we could play them every year. They would easily sell out their new home stadium against us and they could charge more for the game. A lot of universities charge more for certain games versus others. The game could be profitable for both schools.
There has to be a way to play them every year. If Clemson and South Carolina play every year and if Georgia and Georgia Tech play every year.
Tulane charges $700 a season per seat for their better seats with a $2000.00 donation. That is about $117.00 per game. The could easily charge more when LSU is in town. Make LSU game tickets $150 or $200 and charge more for the other seats as well.
Yulman seats 30,000. They could easily charge a premium for the LSU game. A lot of LSU fans would come to Yulman for the game. The game would sell out with premium ticket prices.

I can understand Tulane, Louisiana Tech or Louisiana but the others? Doing a disservice to ticket holders. Need to schedule Div I opponents.

LSU's home games usually bring in a million dollars + each. There is no way they could match that as a road game & LSU is not going to "lose" money when we have all the leverage. The difference in attendance numbers......30,000 vs 100,00+ could never balance out the gate numbers.

Tulane is a top G5 program and most likely there to stay with the surrounding leftover talent.
LSU vs Tulane would be a great opening game.
I really don't want to play any schools from Louisiana outside of Tulane, Southern, (For Band) Grambling (For Band) and Lafayette Junior College of Southwest Louisiana. (For the joy of a beat down)

They would not only sell out their game against us but also would probably see a huge uptick in season ticket sales. There’s no argument that this wouldn’t be good for Tulane.
For whatever reason, beating Tulane seems more respectable than beating the other LA teams. I like it.

There is no economic benefit to Baton Rouge to having another Baton Rouge team playing in Tiger Stadium.

"Huge uptick in season ticket sales"? You don't know the weenie's fan base very well. Several yrs ago they were playing for conference championship, last game of the season, & they didn't fill their 30,000 seat stadium. I have, based on decades of experience with their fans, no doubt that LSU fans wouldn't take over the stadium. Their administration , as it always has in the past, would simply look at a LSU game as a way to make money. Too, money-wise, there is no way for them to make up the 70,000+seating difference. It's no coincidence that the only team fights that LSU teams have had in baseball, softball, & football ( it was the best fight I've ever seen, the refs called off the game with minutes remaining) were games against the weenies. Skip stopped playing them in softball for several years Yea, I detest that Up Town, St. Charles Ave. fan base.

Live in NOLA area. To tell you how old I am...I was in the stadiums for all of the 62-0 games. Know a number of Tulane fans my age. Two things: 1. They hate LSU. 2. Hell would freeze over before they attended any sporting event in BR.
They haven't sold their allotment since Big John was Gov & they will not do it in 2030.
