We haven't played Tulane since 2009(!), and I don't know why-- that's our own true natural rival.

Now that Tulane plays good football I'm looking forward to renewing this great series-- do whatever it takes to secure it as a yearly event

Also Arizona st home and home is off schedule now for future

Rumblings that the non conference P4 games go away since the addition of a 9th. SEC game. Good. I support that!

Absolutely.

Best case scenario: Get em back in the SEC and invite Oklahoma State for Oklahoma.

Absolutely. I come from a split family and heard dog cussing arguments often in the 80s at Thanksgiving. Natural rivals.

RollMFWave22..........When are y'all gonna get back in the SEC?

Any talk of that happening from the Tulane end?

LSU vs Tulane back to closing it out every season.

On our end we’re prepping for a crippled ACC.

Which theoretically could result in Thanksgiving game back, given UF/FSU, UK/LVill, and UGA/Tech

Love this. Infinitely better than McNesse, Nichols, SLU, etc.

Turn on the green T at Henry’s and break out the wheelbarrows and “The Rag”

I think it’s a home and home and too late to do so. I do think that will be it though. Big 10 cried that they play 9 conference games and wanted SEC to the same but they don’t play a P4 non-conference game.
I was hoping to see the Cajuns on one of those years.

Weak zero games to open future seasons makes sense with unsuccessful recent history.

I don't mind the P4 nonconference game. It gives us a chance to play new teams and fans can visit new campuses. This shite is supposed to be fun for the fans, remember? And beating up on Northwestern types 2-3 times a year should go away for everyone IMO.

But I don't like giving up a home game to go to Houston or SMU. Neither team, campus, or stadium is appealing. I understand the game is being played at NRG but that's no better. The "neutral site" road trips just feel corporate and NFL-like and have not been very fun as a fan.

9 SEC games, 2 P4 nonconference, 1 tune-up would be awesome for everyone in my opinion. Add another bye week if it's too tough on the players

There will still be an SEC power that schedules a competitive OOC week 1 game (not week 0) and wins the game. With all else being equal that team will go to playoffs over LSU with the crappy OOC schedule.

BUT I get it, take care of business against the 9 SEC teams and it won’t matter.

Season ticket holders won’t be happy about the crappy opening 3, lots of seats to be had for those who want to catch a game or two with the kids.

We will still have 7 home games. In those years that we travel to those places, we get the 5 SEC home games, plus 2 OOC home games.

I’d much rather travel to see LSU play a decent team than watch a snoozer against NW St.

If you’re going to satisfy the P4 requirement, this is exactly the way to do it. Play middle of the pack teams in the B12 or ACC.

ETA…although I agree the neutral site thing is played out, the upside of Houston and Dallas is that it will have a massive amount of LSU fans in attendance.

Sorry for replying since you ask RMFW22....and i don't know if you are being sarcastic or not.

However it's obvious that the SEC wouldn't take us back. Our best option is either Big 12 or ACC. Our AD fumbled the process of hiring Will Hall (the hire itself wasn't a disaster but how it went down was).

He needs to clean house in basketball and try to get the scholarships up in baseball.....

I am not a fan of the baseball coach but he has been handcuffed since the NCAA allowed more scholarships.

Tulane could/should be a top choice for power conference but they need to worry more about the big 2/3 sports than tennis and sailing.

There is chatter that the SEC may do away with the P4 OOC opponent, same as the B1G.
