I wanted JD5 in to keep scoring but then my perspective changed when I saw the other coach and looking back on it yeah I understand JD wanted it and Kelly wanted it for him but when we were ahead by so many in the 3rd quarter...just think if we were Ga.State fans? We would hate LSU for doing that. Coaches are put in a tough situation especially when they are just trying to keep a team together and make everyone happy, unfortunately you can't make everyone happy. It sounded like JD5 knew he tied Burrows record & wanted to beat it and to be honest, that's not good sportsmanship. Maybe he understands that now but not in the heat of the battle? All I know is I have enjoyed the S#-+ out of them both and it's too bad 5 won't get the extra playoff games to run wild! What is sad is our fans have gotten too spoiled and even when Burrow played and We were Unbeaten with the Heisman Trophy Winner the people left. What they need to do from now on is show how many people are outside the stadium and post those numbers and live feeds throughout the tailgating spots, then we would all be cooking the greatest food on the biggest screens with no line for the terlit etc etc, LMAO Iam glad I experienced the Tiger Stadium that stayed Full,
Most of the time ,??????

How is it possible members of our fan base still don’t want to give JD any credit?

Joe Burrow never had an FSU game.

Jayden Daniels vs. FSU 2023:
22/37, 346 yards (9.4 ypa), 1 TD, 1 INT
15 rushes, 64 yards, 4.3 ypc
410 total yards on 52 plays, 7.9 ypp

Joe Burrow vs. Auburn 2019:
32/42, 321 yards (7.6 ypa), 1 TD, 1 INT
13 rushes, 31 yards, 2.4 ypc, 1 TD
352 total yards on 56 plays, 6.3 ypp

Florida State is currently #24 in FBS total defense. Auburn was #28 in FBS total defense.

Those performances are pretty damn comparable. There are differences, of course:
- 2019 Auburn was a home game; 2023 FSU was in Orlando.
- 2019 Auburn scored 20 points against LSU’s defense; 2023 FSU scored 45 points against LSU’s defense.
- LSU had 13 possessions against 2019 Auburn vs. 11 against 2023 FSU.

Look, I think Burrow was a better QB in 2019 than Daniels in 2023. But y’all are kidding yourselves if you don’t think it’s close. If we had the 2019 defense this year we would be undefeated right now speculating about who we are playing in the first round of the playoffs.

Let’s be real, Daniels has faced crap defenses on a weekly basis.
He’s had a great year stats wise and has a chance to be a good pro but it doesn’t change the fact his numbers are a little inflated because of the schedule.

Let’s give JD the send off he deserves in Tiger Stadium even if it is at 11am.

Burrow played against tougher teams this SEC

Regardless of the competition Daniels has torched everyone and this offense would torch everyone on the 2019 schedule as well. Daniels is a better college QB than Burrow.

He’s one of the LSU “fans” try at hopes we lose so he can be right about Daniels, even though he’s been proven wrong in every conceivable way

JB would have been out of last night's game, possibly by the 2nd quarter. Literally inconceivable he would have stayed in until the penultimate possession late in the 4th.

In what way could Daniels have been better last night? He literally scored a touchdown on every possession. And he didn’t need to play the second half, he played it because he was chasing Burrow’s td record.

Suppose the 2011 team had JD5.

Suppose the 2019 team had the 2011 defense. Y’all act like the defense in 2019 was good during the regular season. With the suspensions and injuries they really didn’t start coming on until late in the season. Hell, one of their best linebackers and pass rushers didn’t play all year until the playoffs.

Elation! Until you go a step further and describe future defenses. Cue the sads.

Not really man. I just see it as an observation. It’s also an opinion. What Daniel’s does has a shorter shelf life. Especially in the NFL. He has grown tremendously as a passer but I dont think it’s a stretch to say that he will need to continue to evolve and rely less on running. The next level is the next level. JD is unreal. It’s not meant to knock him. Ask him if he wants to run as much in the NFL. This is just a discussion.

In the rain against Auburn who had the best DLine in the country versus the number 24th ranked defense in the ACC.

I’m sorry man but as I posted you better start looking at the DEFENSES they played against.
I LOVE JAYDEN AND HE DESERVES THE HEISMAN. However, you want to know what people are going to look at?
LSU has lost to 17, 24(and ole miss not ranked in the top 50) and beat 45,46,47,and 48.
None of those teams have set the world on fire even FSU.

As a comparison here is what Burrow had to beat:
Burrow beat the number 1,2,7,14,17 defenses (post season rankings after Burrow got them that year.
UF that season was top 3 before LSU played them and they hung 42 on them. UF ended the season at number 7 defense. That’s just an example.
Who you play MATTERS.

You misunderstand. He couldn't have been better. But it was extra reps that Burrow never would have had. As it turns out, LSU didn't have a creampuff scheduled in November in 2019. But you can bet your arse had they played Georgia State, Burrow WOULD NOT have been playing late into the 4th quarter.

It was outwardly (and admittedly by JD5) a gambit to beat Burrow's record and up the Heisman profile. I have no problem with that. But let's be up front about recognizing it as such.

Yeah, 2019 really was insane. They BLEW OUT Clemson in the title game after having laid waste to other FINAL TOP 15 teams.

This is in no way negative about JD5. But it's still reality.

Yea he was awful in that game. Only 352 yards against a better defense than anyone we’ve beat this season.
