I hate posters like you. Always quick with a negative take. You think this makes you look smart. It doesn't.

Geaux away!

Burrow is my favorite qb ever, but what Daniels is doing is truly impressive. Most improved player I have ever seen. Daniels deserves the Heisman!

I think it's more likely to see another Burrow than another Daniels. What JD does with his legs is extremely rare. Not taking away anything from Burrow but with the 2019 defense how many more opportunities would JD get to have the ball?

LSU is undefeated this year with the 2019 defense, and it beats UGA by double digits in the SECCG.

This is fantasy.

In 2022 Daniels was sacked 43 times, thru 11 games in 2023 only 20 sacks (GA St was the first game this year with 0 sacks). he's close to improving this stat by 50%.

Daniels' RTG in 2022 was 143.9 and his QBR was 77.5. in 2023 so far his RTG is 208.3 (1st in the NCAA) and his QBR is 94.9. drastic improvements. [Nix is 2nd in the NCAA in RTG (passing efficiency) at 191.35]

btw in the 3 losses Daniels' RTG against Fl St this year was 141.5 and his QBR was 71.7. his RTG against Ole Miss this year was 208.3 and his QBR was 94.8. his RTG against Al this year was 158.3 and his QBR was 97.7.

Daniels' yards per completions for 2022 was 10.95 (93rd in the NCAA), yards per completions for 2023 is 16.6 yards (2nd in the NCAA; again drastic improvement) (Nix is 36th at 12.55 ypc)

in passing yards per game Penix is 1st (335.91), Daniels is 2nd (325.18) and Nix is 3rd (321.73)

Daniels is 7th in completion percentage at .726 (Nix is 1st at .781)

Daniels is 21st in the NCAA in rushing with 1014 yards and 1st in yards per carry at 8.18

Danial's has one quality win against the elephants last year.

Burrow has 2 bowl games an undefeated season and a natty.

JB would have been out of last night's game, possibly by the 2nd quarter. Literally inconceivable he would have stayed in until the penultimate possession late in the 4th.

bullshite. Go back and look at how few snaps Brennan actually played in 2019.

They are two very different QBs in two very different seasons. Minimizing either’s accomplishments is stupid.

He would have either gotten the Russell Shepard treatment, or been stuck playing under center.

JD has 2 quality wins. One against Bama at home and one against Mizzou on the road. If he had a defense he would also have a win against Ole Miss and possibly Bama on the road but we'll never know on that one. Point is no one is saying Burrow didn't have a better record but he did have a better defense. There will always be QBs who can read defenses and throw the ball all over the field. Having a couple of NFL receivers makes it a whole lot easier as both Burrow and Daniels have had. What sets JD apart is the running ability. That is what makes JD special. There have been great running QB's that were good throwers and there have been great throwing QB's that have been avg runners. JD in a league of his own right now.

Burrow threw the ball 38 times and ran for 10 more times vs an eventual 7-6 Utah St team in 2019. Now explain to me how that isn't the same?
That was LSU's 5th game of the season. And Brennan played the 4th quarter.

LSU's defense is the reason why Daniels didn't get out earlier
Daniels played well into the 4th quarter when it was already a blowout. GSU didn't even score in the 2nd half.

THAT is why Daniels stayed in the game for so long. If you want to blame anybody, continue to blame the sorry arse defense.
Sorry, this is just dumb. LSU was winning by 3TDs at the half. I'm not saying JD shouldn't have started the 3rd. I'm saying he added 2 TDs in the 4th, literally, because he was chasing records/the Heisman. AND I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH THAT. But JB would not have been in for those. (And probably wouldn't have even thrown the last one to Nabers had he even been in. It would have been all runs).

I'm not minimizing anything. I'm saying: Joe Burrow WOULD NOT have played deep in the 4th quarter up 40 in mid-November against a creampuff IN ANY CIRCUMSTANCE.

ETA: Just look at the TAMU game in 2019. An SEC opponent EVEN LATER in the season, and JB didn't play in the 4th. (LSU was up by 34 when he left the game - as compared to LSU up 28 against GSU.)

Burrow had a clock advantage that Daniels doesn’t have, thus Daniels would have more snaps due to the clock rule changes where the clock stopped more in the past. Burrow was incredible though. If LSU had any kind of defense, JD5 would be a lock for the Heisman and he still may win it anyway.

The clock this season is also why LSU has punted very few times.

This seems like a fair point. I'd like to see more numbers on it.

I contend if they merely had a below average defense instead of possibly the literal worst, not only would the Heisman be a lock, but maybe even a title. Certainly the playoffs would.

I love Daniels. He is great and putting up really good numbers and should win the Heisman but please stop comparing him to Burrow.. he was in a class all by himself.
