Jayden is better than Jamarcus ever was. Jamarcus had all the potential in the world but never lived up to it. He was a roller coaster of great plays and boneheaded plays. Jayden has become very consistently good with the bonus running ability.

Statistically, Daniels is better than JaMarcus, YA Tittle, Flynn, Mettenberger, and just about everyone else. I know the eras are different but this should not be an argument.

Yes, the eras are different but it is an argument. I support JD that is on fire and we need him to be. But just tallying stats does not immortalize players. The great ones hang hardware. Hopefully, he can become LSU's 3rd Heisman...

Bill belichik disagrees. Said Bert Jones was the best passer he ever coached.

They won't fight you about this anymore. Just a few weeks ago they did but that's pretty much gone.

If Daniels played in 2006, we don't lose a game due to his ability to run and avoid interceptions. And he would have had the Heisman locked up already.

If Jayden was QB of that 06 team we damn sure score more than 3 against Auburn and don’t need OT to beat a winless Ole Miss team. I would argue we win a NC that year.

The saddest part if all this
Is that
If LSU had any kind of defense we would be 7-0 and possibility #1….

I like how folks feel like they have to put a disclaimer about nobody being close to burrow. I love burrow, but if another rare talent comes along like Daniels, why not put them in the convo with Burrow?
I get it, JB brought to us the greatest of gifts. But let’s not forget the defense that year was much better than our current one.
JD is in the mix with JB in my opinion. His improvement is off the charts and I think he’ll dominate in the nfl.

I like JD5 but this is his 5th yr at qb. He'll have probably over 20 more starts as JR.

Possibly #1. Joe had a lot more talent around him. How about 1a and 1b?

Please don’t ever post again
I think it's a valid argument.

Daniels can do things with his legs Burrow could only dream of.
Nabers might edge Marshall out as the 3rd WR, might not. He doesn't match Chase or Jefferson.
Diggs may be a solid 2nd behind Clyde.

If this defense wasn't historically bad, and we play Fla St in game 2 (like we did Texas in 2019) instead of opening with them, this might be a repeat of 2019. Unstoppable offense.

JD is better than JR was, regardless of number of starts.

Bert a Jones only LSU QB who won an NFL MVP. Agree that JD is best dual threat QB ever at LSU and probably 2nd best all time, but there also was greatness in Bert Jones

He is 3rd. The perennial 2nd best will always be the one who never played

Bert was great, and properly developed in the NFL.
McClendon wasted him.

Burrow is in a league of his own. He could do it all. Had the brains, the arm, and the legs and got all the hardware in the trophy case, smoked the cigar and went #1 in the draft. Dates a hottie. It can’t get any better than that.

JD has been good but, he hasn’t faced the competition Burrow faced. He doesn’t have quite the same tangibles. He also has a defense that gets off the field so fast from getting scored on that he gets to stay on the field significantly longer than Burrow did and gets way more opportunities with the ball than Burrow did.

Honestly, he may make it into an argument for #1.

I agree. Especially given the style of LSU's offense back then.

Bert Jones

If Mac had developed an O around Jones doing his time here, there is simply no telling what the guy could could have accomplished. The idea that Jones had to share time at quarterback with basically a running back playing quarterback, makes me wish I could turn back time and tell Mac exactly what type of talent he was wasting
