re: The sound system overwhelms everything else in the stadium and not in a good way.

The honoring of crap at every time out kills any fan momentum. During timeouts it would be nice to have the band or DJ play something to keep the crowd going. Instead we get to honor the swim team for wining a meet last week.
And this is a symptom of every time play is stopped for any reason, we have to go to a three plus minute commercial. That kills the fan support more than anything.

I am over in 206 and it just barrels down on you. Non-stop.

I spoke to a lifelong Tiger fan about this a few weeks ago. It's awful. Not only does it drown out the band while we are on defense, it has caused TGBFTL to stop playing Eye of the Tiger on 3rd downs. I'm really not sure who's idea it was to start all of this, but it needs to end. I remember when TGBFTL would play Sweet Caroline and other songs in the 4th Quarter and everyone would sing along. Now they pipe it in and the band just sits there. Terrible. Not to mention, all of the sound comes from the North End Zone and nothing from the South End Zone. If you are going to do it, at least make it like a surround sound instead of a cheap TV from Wal Mart!

I completely agree…I actually found myself getting overstimulated last game with all of the flashing lights, scoreboards playing videos and blaring music. I could hardly focus on the game.
Flip side of that is that the younger folks around me seem to love it…and they are the future of LSU football, I am not!

The sound system, the light shows, the jumbotron, they are blasting full force the entire game in between plays. There's absolutely no time to soak up atmosphere because your senses are being aggressively gang banged every single second you're in the stadium
The sound system does not bother me nor the lights. I get pissed that we spent a gazillion dollars on the latest video screens and we get no replays, very little live stats, and other game scores so small you cant see them (dont waer glasses either). What we do is little Braxton, Jaxton, and Brooke Social Stadium pics on slideshow roll. That pisses me off more than anything you all complaining about.

At one time the ribbon boards showed stats and scores. Now it's all advertising.

Saturday was first game for me this year. I had a headache from music by time I left. It’s just non stop. I’m in agreement some is good, but it was continuous and the band hardly played. Unfortunately I believe all the complaining falls on deaf ears. I used to make 5/6 games a year, but not sure I’ll be back. The problems outside the stadium and music inside has about done me in. Traffic actually doesn’t bother me!

When LSU was on offense at SC goal line after a TO, the music was blaring and continued until Nuss was under Center. I don't know who is in control of the system but that person should not be allowed to do so anymore.
The bands are the only music that should be played during the game. Timeouts/end of quarter they can play the piped in music but not during the game.

This is not exclusive to Tiger Stadium. Ear-splitting, piped-in music is now a feature at NBA games, NFL games and even between pitches at baseball games.
I have complained and the answer I'm always given is, "Well, that's what the players want. They say it fires them up."
Sigh. Are the players going to chip in from their NIL millions when the paying customers stop going to the games?
Every athletic department has someone in charge of Game Management. That seems to be the guy/girl we need to dox and send our complaints to.
These game management people travel to meetings and conventions where they get fed this idea of turning everything up to 11 and making it non-stop. And the athletic directors just sit back and let it happen.

Most people complained for a few years of sound not being clear to understand. Now they upgraded and made it clearer....but louder and play stuff I can't understand. I have no clued what the lyrics are. All kinds of diff loud sounds
Posted on 10/14/25 at 6:19 pm to Jim Rockford
I’ll give you another one. When the musics being played it’s almost louder than Chris Blair’s voice on the radio.

I agree 100%.
They play nothing but crap on that sound system.
I remember the old days when it was the band and the crowd. That is what Tiger Stadium is supposed to sound like.
But if you think that is bad the Superdome is even worse.

The crazy part is it’s not even that good of a sound system. You can barely hear the PA announcer while the music is overly loud and the speakers are on one side of the stadium.

Then you would bitch about the music playing loudly every timeout.

What brilliant LSU executive made this decision...and allows it to continue knowing it doesnt work? It serves no useful purpose in the game experience. None, and it actually adds to the culture problem at hand.

The dumb thing is the audience they're doing that for DGAF and leave at halftime anyway.
Posted on 10/14/25 at 6:32 pm to Jim Rockford
They really need smaller speakers throughout the stadium. Crazy to think someone actually thought speakers in one spot was a good idea

They still do but the font is so small it is very difficult to read.

Actually don’t mind the piped in music. It keeps the students involved. A healthy mix between band and piped is fine.

The band, the crowd, everything. The bass even randomly thuds when they're honoring the cancer kids. It's just a constant assault on the senses. It's apparently a feature not a bug. For some reason they've decided it should be this way but it destroys the atmosphere. Tiger Stadium used to be known for its crowd noise, but why make noise when the sound system is exponentially louder than any noise the crowd can make?
Raise Hell with the Athletic Department.
COMPLAIN!!!.
