Honest question, do other SEC schools play as much rap music as LSU does? It seems like LSU is blasting rap music almost any chance they get.

On a similar note, the live version of Calling Baton Rouge where they turn up the volume with the recorded crowd noise at the end of the 3rd qtr sounds absolutely ridiculous if the stadium crowd isn’t already really loud. Throw in the pathetic flame shooters on the field trying to sync to the song and the whole production is just silly.

And yes, the volume of the speakers kills the stadium atmosphere. You can’t when talk to the person next to you when a song come on.

it's college football, not a nightclub.

Let the band play.

It is 10 times worse at Kyle Field. I went last year and it is so loud, you can’t talk to people because of the speakers.

True

you need it because after halftime the stadium is half full.

What does that have to do with anything? You’re not allowed to play that music or noise once the team lines up.

Just finished my fan experience survey and mentioned this specifically. Play Louisiana music that is part of our unique culture. Cajun and Zydeco would be welcomed. Also play at least one Mardi Gras song a game. It is part of who we are.

The players feed off the inspirational music; they rely on that to get them going since the crowd leaves after halftime. Garth Brooks and Boosie blasting from the speakers had me fired up.

This is an epidemic in college stadiums unfortunately.

The traditional collegiate atmosphere has been destroyed.

You can't hear the band or the cheerleaders at all if you aren't directly next to them.

The sound system, the light shows, the jumbotron, they are blasting full force the entire game in between plays. There's absolutely no time to soak up atmosphere because your senses are being aggressively gang banged every single second you're in the stadium.

They should shut the sound system off for games against SEC and/or ranked opponents, let the crowd carry those games. Turn it on when there’s otherwise a lack of energy.

Its gotten down to the high school level.

I used to love the bands and visiting with others and the crowd cheering. Even opposing fans.

Now they feel the need to club it out every second of every game. Fill all voids even if not there.

Its like the NBA people sent out a how to manual on fricking up your home stadium and everyone is running it.

The pregame was so terrible at the local high school last year I haven't been to one this year and the stadium is 2 blocks away.

I could hear it on the radio. It was drowning out the commentators.

The fix is very easy but somebody's job and a whole lot of money is tied up in this so they'll go down with the ship rather than admit they made a mistake.

Glad I'm old enough to remember what it was like before every game being televised and wrap music being played. I loved listening to the band play all the cool fight songs. Its all gone. i guess my best years are gone too because I don't go to many games any more. It is what it is.
