Bring back Black Friday Arkansas over this BS. A&M and Texas will start playing on Thanksgiving again anyway.

Hopefully it’s packed since it’s such a big recruiting weekend

We played A&M a shite ton historically and honestly, I think I hate them more than any other program.

So, for me at least, there is nothing contrived about the love lost between the two. "Rival" is a word I don't think LSU can ever use though, unless Tulane becomes a big time program again

We've played 61 times and have a 35-23-3 edge on the record.

You do realize the SEC doesn’t set TV schedules, right?

Appears LSU vacated 2012 - 2015 games, so played 61 times, but the official record appears to be 31-23-3.

And the reason fans feel it is forced, is because the league is trying to "force" an old rivalry back into existence.
LSU has played TAM the 7th most times, but before 2011 they had also played Rice, AU & Kentucky more. Roughly 40 of these games were played before most of the posters on this board were alive.

Also, in order to make this the rivalry game, the SEC "took away" Ark as a rivalry game. LSU has played Ark more times that TAM

If anything, Ark should have the biggest gripe. Lost their LSU rivalry for Mizz who they played 14 times (5 before Mizz joined the SEC) in the history of the 2 programs

Even if it had been, SECN is owned and run by ESPN.

As we aren't going to be on CBS for the rest of the year, every single game going forward has exclusive rights through ESPN.

LSU has played Texas A&M more times than it has played Auburn. Contrived rivalry, my arse.

The one (hypothetical) benefit to an 11am kickoff is that there is absolutely no excuse for people to leave early (unless LSU is blowing out A&M).

TV Networks control game times, not the SEC. And I hate to break it to you, but the TV networks don't care if it's one of the least attended games of the year due to LSU fans not wanting to get up early. That's an LSU problem. Why would they choose LSU/A&M over FSU/Florida?

Y'all need to do some research on how this stuff works before you start pitching a fit.

I don’t personally know any LSU fans that view LSU ark as a rivalry.

I don’t feel like this is a contrived rivalry at all. I fricking hate aTm. Probably more than any other SEC team.

I like the A&M game a lot more than when the SEC tried making Arkansas and LSU a rivalry game. And I guess you aren't old enough to realize a rivalry used to exist between LSU and the Aggies in the 70-90's. They played annually from 1960 to 1975, the series resumed from 1986 to 1995. And I have enjoyed playing them every year and loved it being the last game of the year.

Obviously the SEC wants the west coast voters to see him in action during their morning coffee and avocado toast.

This game became a rivalry when TAM stole Johnny Hector from us in recruiting in 1979. That was the original basis for the hatred. Not a history of playing.

Which game do you think will be more competitive? I think SC and Florida get boat raced. LSU’s defense makes this competitive.

For those of you claiming to hate A&M, for Gods sake have a little respect for yourselves

A&M is comic relief for college football as a concept.

surely you understand that the SEC has no say in setting game times.

That's the TV networks decision, per their contracts.
