Needless to say, alcohol was very much involved

I knew a couple that ended up divorced because they got in a knockdown, drag out fight over how they would hypothetically spend the money if they won the lottery.
If memory serves there was a hole in the wall from the wife throwing one of those meat tenderizer hammers at ole boys head

re: Michigan reportedly wants to talk to ravens OC Todd Monken

Monken is such a weird candidate. Extremely well thought of in coaching circles. A key architect of championship teams, yet continually passed over for marquee head coaching jobs.
Is he Matt Canada level abrasive? I honestly don’t know

Amphetamine psychosis is real and sometimes it’s more or less permanent
re: Lesson from the confederate monument saga
Posted by EmperorGout on 12/19/25 at 10:47 am to T1gerNate
Lee himself was opposed to such monuments and favored full re-integration into the union as soon as possible.
And most of the monuments weren’t built in the immediate aftermath of the war, but during the civil rights movement, when southern whites were livid that blacks were about to be allowed to vote.
Confederate nostalgia is apex loser behavior, then, now, and always

Cool. Good luck to him
re: Where does Miles Garrett rank on the list of wasted generational talents?
Posted by EmperorGout on 12/14/25 at 6:58 pm to mule74
Barry Sanders made the playoffs 5 times in 10 years including an NFC title game but his career is pretty much fictional at this point.
If you’re looking for a generational talent absolutely squandered by Detroit, that would be Calvin Johnson

Happened under Saban, if a Miles or Orgeron team had done it the media would still be mentioning it

She’s a subordinate employee, sexual harassment laws were written with this scenario in mind
Not saying she’s blameless of course

I really never thought that any college football team would challenge Urban Meyer’s Florida run for absolute evil but Michigan might do it!

Some of you are too young to remember a football coach leaving Alabama for Texas A&M and it shows

I don't get how younger LSU fans don't want to beat up on Tulane. I'd rather beat them than Southern for Christ's sake and the financials of traveling to New Orleans when you consider travel can work out.
You’re missing the point. Younger LSU fans see no difference between Tulane and Southern/Southeastern/ULL/LaTech.
And you know what? They’re right

In the past 70ish years, the LSU-Tulane “rivalry” was compelling for like 4 years in the early 1980s. That’s it.
Part of the reason they cancelled the redux was lack of interest

No thanks, the rivalry is dead and will remain so

My parents drank cokes in the morning and alcohol in the evening every day of their lives and quite literally NEVER bought fruit. It seems odd now, but they were both raised in the rural south and never had fruit as kids either; it just never occurred to them.
I had to teach myself how to eat healthy as an adult. I would never let my own children have the kind of diet we had. And my parents were both educated and had decent jobs. Sometimes I still shake my head.
