He’s calculated in his emotions. I happen to like it.

Kelly gets mad when he needs to. A head coach isn't supposed to be a raging maniac. The coordinators and position coaches can yell and scream at the players.

The head coach is the top dog and should pick and choose when to get emotional, when it will have the greatest impact.

I saw plenty of emotion from Kelly last night.

I understand if a coach wants to get his guys fired up, but I don't need to see BK yelling and acting like a lunatic otherwise. It just shows that someone's not in control.

Seeing our HC actually talk to the QB and coach him on the sidelines is such a breath of fresh air I don’t quite know what to think.

Florida state game he had a blank stare pretty much the whole game.

Mike Leach has had a blank stare pretty much every game of his career. Yet he'll chew out his players when he feels it's necessary, and there are videos out there to prove it.

The overanalysis of a coach's sideline demeanor by football fans is bizarre.

I was thinking this about Leach as well .. any time I saw him last night, he looked right out dense... And I don't think that's the case, actually. Yet some LSU fans were just obsessed with Kelly's facial expression the handful of times the camera was on him.

It's very hard to make the right decision or call when you are overly emotional. I'm from the old school of Tom Landry - keep it cool and make the right decision. Just my 1 1/2 cents worth. (Inflation)

I don’t give too much of a shite about a coach or even a player showing emotion either way. I care about the product on the field. If they’re winning looking like a bunch of robots, who really gives a shite.

People only say this garbage when we’re loosing.

Rantards like emotional coaches when things aren't going well. Rantards have the emotional stability of a hormonal teenaged girl.

Some people make a thread whenever they have a thought.

When he isn’t losing it on the sidelines he is “checked out”

I think people lose their shite bc he is very stoic when shite isnt going well for us.

I love that about him. Just because someone loses their shite when things aren't going well doesn't mean he is a good leader .

Were you watching him the whole game or the cumulative 30 secs the TV camera was on him?

One screen shot of him, you could read his lips calling out “5”. On another he used his body language to emphasize where to throw the back shoulder pass. He was encouraging AND coaching, not having a temper tantrum. I like what I’ve seen.

The fact that he coaches the QB after each drive 1 on 1 is amazing to see as an LSU fan.
the purple QB eater hasn't reared it's head (notice I didn't say "ugly") yet.

However, he was yelling at Daniels quite a lot I noticed. That's always been his MO- the S/MLB and QB have to out perform everybody so he rides them hard.

I will note at least two times he was yelling at JD I thought it was on the WR. One was Boutte not giving himself enough room on the sideline; pass had no chance and he was protecting against an INT and on another the coverage called for back shoulder and that's what he threw, and WR (can't remember who) continued the route.
