Another consideration is that the Chicago archdiocese had 30% fraudulent claims.

Rational response is for rational posters. I get it. Sometimes even in threads with the irrational need some rationality.

The real answer is the both teams are very talented and well coached. They are highly ranked. LSU played at home and made the plays to win the series. Just like TX did in the LSU series earlier in the year. Both are likely top 8 seeds. We shall see what happens at the end of the season.

LABI also makes recommendations and they are slightly different that CABL’s. Will at LABI spoke in support of amendment 1 whereas CABL is opposed.
PAR economist spoke at rotary where I live and explained amendment 2 in detail with stats. Shows how it took all of the items in the amendment to make the numbers work and achieve the removal of the tax BS in article 7 that makes LA uncompetitive. Not everything but a good start for once.

Read the PAR guides or CABL guides. Then make up your own mind.
Don’t listen to the opinions here because they are informed by history and emotion not information.
You can’t have a rational discussion about these amendments on here. To many monkeys shitting in there hands and slinging it.

We did lose. But we have to play in the elite eight as penance.
re: What Amendment 2 is about

I agree you.
Amendment 2 is pretty important for Louisiana. Less to do with teachers and more to do with making our tax structure more appealing to investment and growth.
Our current constitutional structure makes it almost impossible for the legislature to make the changes our neighbors are doing. All those states are growing population and jobs. We are not. Yet our citizenry isn’t educated on these amendments and just says “I don’t trust those SOBs so I’m voting no.”

I agree that isn’t too much. To make the tax cuts work the other items were necessary.
It isn’t perfect but it makes us more competitive with our neighbors regarding economic growth.

What Amendment 2 is about
Posted by Tigerinasia on 3/28/25 at 5:01 pm
Amendment 2
“This amendment does a number of significant things that we believe voters should be aware of:
Raises the cap on how much money can go into the state’s “Rainy Day” fund and fills it up with a transfer of $1.8 billion from another savings account.
Requires a two-thirds vote to create or change tax exemptions or credits.
Lowers the maximum income tax rate from 4.75% to 3.75% and doubles the standard deduction on income taxes for seniors.
Reduces the debt in the state teachers’ retirement system and uses the savings to make a temporary teacher pay stipend permanent.
Attempts to address longstanding issues surrounding the business inventory tax and lack of uniformity between the state and local sales tax base.
Moves a number of protected funds and tax deductions out of the constitution and places them in statute.
There are also some important things this amendment does not change:
Sales tax exemptions on food at home, residential utilities, and prescription drugs.
The Homestead Exemption.
The requirement of a balanced budget.
Constitutional protection of the “Rainy Day” fund, the Coastal Protection and Restoration Fund, and the Transportation Trust Fund.”
