You know damn well you will be claiming them when they get drafted this year. And for sure they will be part of NFLSU when they are tearing up the league over the next few years.

Fans are going to be upset when top players decide to not play, because it makes our team worse.

That has nothing to do with people being upset the player is leaving in the middle of the season. It's a shame that people are so willing to publicly shame someone for doing what's in their best interest, but in the same breath, I also hate seeing someone essentially give up when things got tough.

I won’t be claiming anything from a former LSU player. I wish all of them luck but they don’t play for the team I root for anymore......

I blame the coaches for putting them in this situation. If we were a top 5 team his wouldn’t be happening.

The timing does make it look worse. I personally think O and Marshall discussed this "opting out" in season as something they would look at as things progressed. Marshall would've been a 1st round pick even if he would've opted out before the season IMO. Now that his value is set at the next level, he decided to pull the trigger.

W all need to adjust to the understanding that college football will never be the same.

Is it not possible for me to feel like Marshall quit on the team, be upset about it AND still hope he does well in the NFL?

Then if that is best for them, why come to LSU, why play college ball at all.... Oh, maybe to show their talents, then when they showed enough, frick LSU, fans, their teammates!! What about the 100's of plays before pussying out, not opting out. They could have gotten hurt then.

All of you who are defending them are prolly pussies tooooo.

Have your teams, freinds, etc. backs... These dudes don't care

Does it need to be said again why people are more upset about Marshall than the others? Seems self explanatory, but if you want, I can lay out the very simple reasoning.

Your logic is not welcome here.

Then it will end entirely as we know it. The fans are not going to be as rabid or emotionally/financially invested whenever players are skipping full seasons and quitting mid-year when the team sucks.

This trend will just continue to drive a wedge between the fans and college players.

No. Maybe if there's a stigma of shame attached to this "business decision" mentality, this shite will stop.

Don't coddle quitters.

You don’t know me very well then. I won’t wish I’ll or anything. But I won’t root for anyone that quit at the next level

These players don't give a flying frick what we think whether it's opt outs or recruiting. They do what's best for them.

Eta: I should say that they don't make life decisions based on what we say.

I’m a LSU fan. That’s pretty much where my loyalty ends

Lol shut the frick up. If you had the same decision to make I guarantee you follow the money, along with all these other middle aged men talking shite about a 20 year old. "but but but he gave up on his team" shut up dude this isn't a Disney movie. As much as I don't like it either the NCAA is a business for athletes too. If you wanna point the finger at someone point it at the NCAA for allowing players to do this, but don't get pissed at them for taking advantage of a flawed system.

I'm going to opt-out of the rest of the year at my job because sales are down, my bonus may not be as big, and I need to prepare for another interview... said only selfish shortsighted quitters.

We don’t owe these players anything

They get everything handed to them plus more because of one thing. The Fans.

They work for us.
