Between offensive and defensive production. I have never seen a championship team with a flat out awful defense.

So... instead of 500 yards and 45 points per game; the offense should get 450 and 40 ppg?

I bet you think Lane Kiffin is a good head coach.

Not that we’d have any say over it, but what head coach and coordinators would have been the right ones to put and to keep lsu in its rightful place in the college football universe anyway?

Maybe they are ranked low because we played them.

have these teams played any world beaters on offense? besides Bama vs Ole Miss..

Does it matter? All team stats include rent a wins at this point. Including Grambling

Wait a second..

So by your logic:
- LSU’s offensive rankings are deceptive because we haven’t played our toughest opponents yet.
- Those opponents’ defensive rankings, however, are what they are?

You can’t have it both ways.

Nobody expects us to put up 600 yards of offense and 50 points against A&M and Alabama.

60 of those rushing attempts had some that were not called rushes and/or did not have the OL run blocking when QB draw was actually called (I think sacks count as runs as well in college).

Diggs has been really good including in 3rd quarter against Ole Miss, but we went away from it in fourth quarter. Even with lower performing RBs in close games under Kelly we have not had a RB have only 2 carries for 1 yard in the 4th quarter.

We have had other poor 4th quarters doing like we did against Ole Miss. Against FSU I think RBs had 1 carry for -5 yards, but that wasn’t close. Although it got worse. Same with A&M last season with RB getting 2 carries for 3 yards in 4th quarter.

Balanced offenses don’t have RB only carry the ball twice in 4th quarter when leading for entire 4th quarter until its last 39 seconds including going up 2 scores with over 8 minutes left.

They also don’t forget them when losing in 4th. Ole Miss didn’t.

While that would be statistically unlikely, we do seem to be getting worse.

probably because Ole Miss had a better offense than Arkansas who had a better offense than Miss State

but some teams don’t have good offenses.

Imagine starting a thread bitching about the offense this year. We have true imbeciles in this fanbase.

as good as our offense was, we couldn't score at the end when we had a chance to win the game. not putting it on any one player, because obviously the coaching staff calling plays had a hand in it. but that is also part of our offense.

OP has a point. I don't see us scoring that much against a&m and alabama, and they can both score more points than we. most of the other teams we should be able to outscore, but everything is shaky right now.

i am set for this team to lose a couple more. if we get better, i won't be disappointed.

I think our offense is good but not the crushing force we think it is.

The defense is every bit as bad as we think.

Go watch a UF game. They’re awful on both sides of the ball.

I’m annoyed with what’s going on but acting like our offense isn’t pretty damn good is about as stupid as the sunshine pumpers acting like we’re gonna win out.

Did you see the huge numbers and points that Bama’s offense put up against Ole Miss when they played them at home? I might have missed that. It was 17-10 late into the 4th. The defense is bad enough. No need to go making up more problems in areas where they don’t exist.
