A&M - 5th total D/ 32nd in peg

Miami says hello. Are they better than our offense?

quote:

UF - 13th total D/ 25th in ppg

Looked like dogshit against Kentucky. Do you think UF outscores us?

quote:

Bama - 20th in total D/ 17th in ppg

The only defense I think legitimately slows us down.

quote:

Mizzou - 29th in total D/ 40th in ppg

Only played KSU. Terrible pass defense.

Army - 31st in total D/ 33rd in ppg

Aub - 34th in total D/ 27th in ppg

Again, Do you think they outscore us?

We aren’t just getting lucky or depending on Daniels to scramble. He’s dissecting defenses and making perfect throws.

I think you’re the unreasonable one.

And believe it or not I don’t think we’ll give up 700+ yards every single week, either.

While that would be statistically unlikely, we do seem to be getting worse.

If we can field even just one of the most basic, average defenses ever, this team is without a doubt a championship team.

Numbers I'm looking at have Arkansas 48th in Total D (339 ypg) and 57th in scoring D (23.8 ppg).

If you take out the 34 points and 509 yards we had against them they would be at 296.5 ypg (18th Total D) and 21.3 ppg (45th scoring D). These numbers arent much different than a lot of the other teams coming up you mentioned.

18th Total D and 45th scoring D and we put up 34/509 on them. Pretty good. Ole Miss would only be averaging 18.5 ppg given up if not for our 49 we put on them which would put them 31st in scoring D instead of 66th.

Maybe the offense is pretty good, and Mizzou's numbers coming into our game with them arent much different than taking our numbers out vs. Arkansas.

Eh, LSU’s offense has out performed every other offense our opponents have faced to this point. There’s not really anything to suggest that won’t continue barring key injuries or like a monsoon game or something. Obviously that won’t translate to 49 points against better defenses but everyone already knows that.

LSU will be favored versus ALL of these teams except Bama and maybe Aggie

Our offense will be an issue for ANY of these teams.

Why would you take out a key part to our running game

Next we should see where we are passing without BTJ11..

Some folks have no clue how to work data.

We shall see soon enough. Having pretty much no defense puts the offense in something of straights inasmuch as they need be nearly perfect if the team is to have a chance to win.

How many of those defenses are ranked where they are because they played LSU already?

It appears the NCAA.com database is not fully updated. That at least gives us a bit of insight.

Prior to playing LSU, Ole Miss was allowing 351.8 ypg. That had them ranked roughly in the 60s. Not great by any means. However, after playing LSU that average ballooned to 408 ypg which now has them ranked in the 100's.

So while the OP does have somewhat of a point that the defenses LSU has played to date haven't been great, their current rankings/stats are skewed by the fact they have played LSU.

LSU gained 100 yards more vs. MSU than any other opponent they have played to date. Same for Arkansas. LSU gained appx. 150 yards more vs. Ole Miss than any other opponent they faced.

Two things can be true. The defenses LSU has played to date haven't been great AND LSU's offense is still very, very good

Hey Rob…what’s your point? Why are we talking about the offense?

Are you wanting JD to sit? Is that how we improve on defense? Lol.

Hey did you know we're only averaging 11.4 yards per game passing when you take out Jayden's passing stats?

Astronomically higher than I would have guessed.

Bamas offense is not what I’d call a world beater

we have more yards against these teams than any other team they’ve played.

FSU not so much but that was before the offense clicked.

but we’re raising Arkansas and MSU’s average YPG by like 20 total yards.

We raised Ole Miss’s average YPG by 57.8 yards and their PPG by 6.1.

We scored 25 more points against Ole Miss than the next
