So, Rousse voted for banning our recruits? So much for being pro-LSU and athletics

Someone ask Ross who the other schools were. Missouri obviously.

Meh. I don't think Lane cares that much; he's building a team. This last bit was, if the guys are eligible, we will attempt to add positive pieces to the roster.

As much as anything, what has happened is that the SEC just guaranteed they won't be able to go back to Ole Miss.
In case you weren't following, the SEC rules prior to today would likely have allowed them to return, but only to the school they came from, regarding SEC teams. In other words, Ole Miss. And had they gone back, do we get the same panicked hand wringing from the SEC we are today?

But since LSU intercepted them and signed them to come here, it has blown up and they're not allowed at all, anywhere. So in stopping Lane, they seem to have stopped everyone else too.
Which eliminates anyone else from benefitting, especially Chambliss getting his favorite target back for the upcoming season.

He’s voting for common sense man. This is objectively ridiculous that we are having to do this 2 weeks before the season

Meh. The NCAA and SEC needs to drop their balls.

Kiffin will do whatever it takes to win inside the rulebooks. If these 5th year guys are eligible then we will take the best. If they aren’t eligible then we will stick with our team.

But in no way will LK set LSU back by not exploiting some of these loopholes

My question is why did he let Lane make as arse of himself on the McAfee show today?

This is far from over. I expect these rules to take effect next season after the lawsuits make their way through the courts.

I want Lane to do everything within the rules to win games

But the rules are absolutely retarded.

Both things can be true

It was going to pass 15-1 anyway. Might as well play along and stop the SEC officials from targeting LSU.

So I guess some eligibility requirements evaded by local court order will be punished and some won’t? Why is Chambliss playing? Because the long standing eligibility rule he is avoiding is different than the long standing eligibility rules they addressed today?

frick Sankey. I haven’t forgotten him fricking LSU for that Florida game.

As much as I would have like for DQW to be on the LSU roster, I do believe this is best for college football. There has to be a line drawn in the sand. Maybe just maybe these players have a leg to stand on, but as always, the NCAA cannot get their head out their @ss when it comes to timing and calendar. At this point in the calendar, they should have just waited and made the 5 for 5 rule starting with athletes who entered college in 2023.

Texas and South Carolina both signed guys in the same boat as what we did.

It’s a curious move that either Lane/Verge did something that big without the president of the school green lighting it.

Especially for just depth pieces to our roster. Honestly not a big deal not to have them but why let the media run wild for 24 hours if the president is going to vote for rules. We could have just not announced anything.

He did what he had to do. A couple of players we weren't expecting a couple of weeks ago is no biggie. Plus him getting Will Wade back was awesome.

He didn't make an arse of himself. Lane always said, "If these guys are eligible under these rules," or something like that. The TRO was only until August 31st, when the preliminary injunction hearing would be held. That will still happen. I would not be surprised it the attorney added the SEC or all the D1 conferences to the complaint

Shitting on your own coaches publicly instead of dealing with it in-house makes us look like idiots.

I have no issue with the result. I have a lot of issue with how it was handled. Rousse has no stones. Or is he going to come out like he did with the Verge hire drama and say it's all just a big misunderstanding and he didn't mean to vote for this?

the NCAA is the entity that waited until AFTER a bunch of guys who were out of eligibility went pro to decide to let guys in that situation be eligible. This entire problem was created by the NCAA.
