re: Simple question. Can you ever trust Sankey again?

I have never had anything positive to say about Sankey. The debacle he orchestrated for the Florida game not long after he was appointed the commissioner They had a hurricane off the east coast of Florida and instead of making a ruling one way or another about where the game would be played.at It didn’t even rain in Gainesville that weekend We ended up having to play Florida in their stadium for two seasons in a row. We were already at a weak position because we had the great Joe Aleeva as our AD

I know I may be the minority here, but I think we must play them. We are protected. All of you people that panic at the first sign of trouble, I get who you are. However, this is where we are strong, and if they don't back off of us, we absolutely go after Sankey and the SEC. I say that knowing that we may have to leave the SEC. Don't forget LSU is a top 5 program nationally. Conferences will be lining up, incuding the Big.

Never did and never trusted the SEC period.

Who said we are leaving the SEC? You, quit being retarded.

Then we humiliate him in court and get him fired

again?
Who trusted him in the first place?

No, but now out in the open, the SEC and others have an axe to grind with LSU and Lane Kiffin.

Exactly.
That’s the fallacy the gotta back down side isn’t appreciating.
Sankey is basically in court record saying he is treating LSU differently than the other members and that was BEFORE he was humiliated on the stand.
If we back down Sankey remains what do yall think happens to LSU?

"With prejudice"..........one ESPN talking head laughingly commented that LSU can expect all League games in the future will kick off at 11:00 a.m. Pete Thamel commented that the damage done to the relationship between the League office & LSU is seriously unrepairable.

Someone pointed out early on that the LSU abstention could turn out be very important when the litigation feces hits the large rotary air movement device.
SEC and the other schools could get hit with an anti-trust suit that could ruin their whole existence.

As far as the NFL owners are concerned, Roger Goodell has one job and that is to make them money.
It seems that the same thing will apply to Sankey.

He needs to be canned with the quickness.

I could do without Jeff Landry in so many ways, but I kind of want Landry to go at Sankey here, it'll be amusing.

In my opinion, Sankey has had disdain toward LSU Athletics for a long time. Actually, I believe this has existed within the "front office" of the SEC for a very long time (to varying degrees). But, with the hiring of Lane Kiffin, there has been a growing hostility toward LSU that has manifest itself in social media, the sports media in general, and more recently from SEC coaches, ADs, and university presidents/chancellors. It begs the question of whether or not this has been steered by Sankey himself.
My answer to your question is NO. The lawsuit against the LSU President, AD, and Head Coach makes this truly personal for them. But it feels personal toward me as an LSU fan.
To me, the larger question is what happens next?
It does seem that the actions being taken now against LSU, cannot be undone with mere words. We have in Sankey, a commissioner with open animus toward LSU. He is targeting LSU and LSU Athletics. This is a bridge too far and one straw too many as far as I am concerned. Personally, there's nothing Sankey can do (nor would he attempt to do) to gain my trust in him, his administrators, and yes especially SEC officiating crews going forward. How can an LSU fan have any confidence that Greg Sankey will act objectively and without bias in any manner from this moment on?
The odds of Sankey stepping down (even with that utterly impotent performance in court) are likely zero. Perhaps less than zero concerning him being fired.
Furthermore, the CFB is also in lock step with the SEC at this point.
I'm not sure if it matters at this point which conference, if any, LSU plays in. I guess apathy and doubt would sum up my thoughts for now.

But I do think we should sue the SEC.
you better stop this, the panickers will be here soon telling you to just shut up, and go sit in the corner.
I too think we should sue the fk out of them. It would be a huge power shift, because LSU very likely has a strong case for Damages. I think the judge alluded to that yesterday when he gave his opinion.

Did you ever trust him? After the Florida not a hurricane debacle, I thought no one with half a brain would. I hate Skankey!
