re: Anyone else get extremely mad when they see opposing teams take over Tiger Stadium?
Posted by LSU Bayou Jim on 8/20/26 at 9:32 pm to LouisianaLonghorn
We don't have football season tickets, but do have baseball. I refuse to sell the tickets if we can't make it. There are games that draw ridiculous prices (10RC in 23) but I just couldn't forgive myself if I turned the game on and saw fans from our SEC rivals in my seats. I will give them away to any one of dozens of LSU fans, but will not sell them for fear of a Vols, Moo State or any other SEC fan sitting there. I sleep well at night with this in mind.

One other difference. One led what may be the greatest team in college football history to a National Championship, the other did not.

But if LSU retires all its Heismans why was Pickett allowed to break that?
The only "number" retired is 20. That was the first LSU Heisman winner. LSU's policies state that all numbers are recirculated. Jersey's are retired not numbers.

Imagine the can of worms this would open if there can be no mention of the number 5 for LSU.....or any other program for that matter. Just think, your offense runs the ball on first and your RB gets half way to the first down marker, Does the PA announcer for LSU have to say LSU has the ball with second and ........., we can't say??? After all, we can't mention 5.

like when Sabin left LSU and went to Alabama.
First, Saban left for the NFL.
Second, A lot of LSU hate for Saban come from him being a lying POS. He proclaimed the day before he announced he was taking the Dolphins job that he would be LSU's coach the following year. Said it while contract details were being finalized. Few years down the line and guess what he did to Miami........Iyt would have been easier if he had just shut up and took the job. He did however make up for some of it by saying LSU is the best job in college football.

He basically said their best hope is to survive the early portion of the game, keep it low scoring, and find a way to win in the end. Said their best hope is that a team of 59 newcomers (transfers and HS recruits) isn't at their best right out the gate and that LSU might be a little overconfident
This is basically the game plan for every double digit underdog, including LSU when we have been in that situation. Just doesn't work out that often.

How many people have physically been to a track meet at LSU?
I have. We try to make at least one outdoor meet every year. With the number of events going on, it is sometimes difficult to keep track of what's going on, but there are some great athletes out there.

narrowed it down to Auburn and Tennessee
Been to both cities. Auburn people were pretty nice and welcoming. We had an LSU license plate on our vehicle back then and had a brick thrown at our car in 10RC. Hope that helps........

Seems like sec is turning towards using ABS system.
Every SEC park has this technology and has so for a few years. The SEC could have put it to use anytime. They will not do so to protect the umpiring crews. At present they allegedly use it to grade the crews.
