Well I'm out of this thread. WE got this fker in here spewing all of his bs, that nobody wants to hear. This is real stuff, and not the time for this loser to be involved. Hoping someone puts a muzzle on him.

LSU really needs to sue the ever loving frick out of the SEC. To continue to bash and trash the University is unacceptable and very unprofessional when we broke no rules
At this point, LSU has little choice but to sue the SEC for institutional damages

So an injunction was initially filed that made Wright and Harris eligible. We recruited and landed them. The SEC creates a rule after that which makes Wright and Harris ineligible (according to them). They threaten sanctions if we roster them. We don't roster them.
That's about right, correct?
What possible grounds do they have to expel LSU?

Would be great if you can start a separate thread to deepdive on all the facts / accusations. So much noise it’s hard to follow what’s really going on here.
As usual you will probably get crucified if you aren’t towing the party line but genuinely interested in your take on this shitshow.

I can’t wait until Sankey has to hand Lane the SEC trophy this year

Kind of funny, they amended the filing to say that they are totally not suing "LSU"; they're just suing Rousse, Verge, Kiffin, and Lee Mallett.
That's a weak argument to try and keep the State in it's full authority from getting involved.

Better question: Why would the feds step in and say what a private organization can and can't do regarding its internal rules?
Because its rules are part of the contracts with the various schools.

Frick that. We helped start this conference.

Lawyers are like physicians, they know a little about everything but are only good in one field. Yeah they might've heard about anti-trust lawsuits and such in law school, but doesn't help them much when they are recording wills and filing succession paperwork.
SFP is out of his depth here

Sankey is certainly using loss of income as a threat. TV contract and Bowl game pay-outs are distributed equally amoung all member schools.
Last year, they split 1.1 Billion just for the TV contract alone. LSU would be hard pressed to make that up in the near future.

It would certainly be a financial haircut.

LSU has followed THE SEC rules as they were in place at the time.

The rules on eligibility existed before that ruling and currently exist. We haven't even rostered these players so the current rule would apply if we were to roster them.

I didn't expect this. I did not expect the SEC to turn up the temperature but they did so. It's a very stupid move.
I still say that in the end, Sankey is removed as commisioner. This is a very foolish thing for the conference leadership to do. They're throwing gasoline on the fire.
Let's fricking go.

hell Texas actually went a step further and rostered Hutson.
I keep seeing posts like this “well this team did this more than we did.”
I am totally ignorant on this topic. Why if other schools are doing this, we are the only one the SEC/NCAA cares about?
Give me an answer other than “they just hate us more”
