A judge is paid to interpret laws and other standards. He is supposed to be the one that is unbiased. So, now the judge that ruled in LSU's favor is a bum, b/c he's local?
If this is Eboni’s father he is a bum and only a judge because it’s an elected position.
He completely ignored that Luis voluntarily gave up his eligibility in 2025 long before age based rule voted on and made decision at least in part (but “heavily”) because he thought Luis received bad advice back in 2025. Luis is ineligible under new and old rules but not under an elected yokal local judge’s subjective and unilateral defining of a professional. Most across this site have talked negatively about him and Eboni before this, but some have switched their views of him for some reason…
quote:
As he made his ruling, Johnson said, “In the court’s mind, (Luis) did not actually play professional basketball,” and that whether Luis was properly advised of his options at the time he left college “lingers heavily before this court.”
I can’t remember where he fits with the rule adopted by the SEC, but he has multiple issues with the NCAA pro rules on eligibility.
quote:
12.01.1 Eligibility for Athletics Participation. Only a student-athlete who meets the governing athletics eligibility legislation and interpretations is eligible for intercollegiate athletics participation in a particular sport. An individual who receives direct or indirect payment for athletics participation, except as permitted by the governing legislation and interpretations, is considered a professional athlete. A professional athlete in one sport may represent a member institution in a different sport and may receive institutional financial assistance in the second sport.
12.02.7 Professional Athletics Team. A professional team is any organized team that:
(a) Provides any of its players more than actual and necessary expenses for participation on the team, except as otherwise permitted by NCAA legislation; or
(b) Declares itself to be professional.
12.2 Involvement With Professional Teams.
12.2.2 Competition.
12.2.2.1 Competition Against Professionals. An individual may participate singly or as a member of an amateur team against professional athletes or professional teams.
12.2.2.2 Competition With Professionals. An individual shall not compete on a professional team
12.2.2.2.1 Exception -- Competition Before Initial Full-Time Collegiate Enrollment. Before initial full-
time collegiate enrollment, an individual may compete on a professional team (per Bylaw 12.02.4), provided the individual does not receive more than actual and necessary expenses to participate on the team.
12.2.2.2.2 Professional Player as Team Member. An individual may participate with a professional on a team, provided the professional is not being paid by a professional team or league to play as a member of that team (e.g., summer basketball leagues with teams composed of both professional and amateur athletes).
12.2.2.2.4 Exception -- Olympic, Paralympic or National Teams. It is permissible for an individual to participate on Olympic, Paralympic or national teams that are competing for prize money or are being compensated by the governing body to participate in a specific event, provided the student-athlete does not accept prize money or any other compensation (other than actual and necessary expenses)
12.2.3 Draft and Inquiry.
12.2.3.1 Inquiry. An individual may inquire of a professional sports organization about eligibility for a professional-league player draft or request information about the individual's market value without affecting the individual's eligibility
status.
12.2.3.2 Draft List -- General Rule. An individual shall not request to be placed on the draft list or supplemental draft list of a professional league.
12.2.3.2.1 Exception -- Men's Basketball -- Four-Year College Student-Athlete.
12.2.3.2.1.1 National Basketball Association. In men's basketball, a student-athlete may enter the National Basketball Association's draft each year during collegiate participation, provided:
(a) The student-athlete requests an evaluation from the National Basketball Association's Undergraduate Advisory Committee before entering the draft;
(b) The student-athlete requests to be removed from the draft list and declares the intent to resume intercollegiate participation not later than 10 days after the conclusion of the NBA draft combine;
(c) The student-athlete's declaration of intent is submitted in writing to the institution's director of athletics; and
(d) The student-athlete is not drafted.
12.2.3.2.1.2 Professional League Other Than the National Basketball Association. In men's basketball, a student-athlete may enter a professional league's draft (other than the National Basketball Association's draft) each year during the student-athlete's four-year college participation, provided:
(a) The student-athlete requests to be removed from the draft list and declares the intent to resume intercollegiate participation not later than 10 days after the conclusion of the professional league's draft combine. If the professional league does not conduct a draft combine, the student-athlete must request to be removed from the draft list not later than the end of the day before the first day of the spring signing period for the
applicable year;
(b) The student-athlete's declaration of intent is submitted in writing to the institution's director of athletics; and
(c) The student-athlete is not drafted.

You'd better hope not, unless we ultimately want all of the games he plays in to be vacated.

Im okay with them vacating them later, cant take away my memories

Yeah this seems to me to be exactly like the football case.....and we ultimately decided not to roster them.

I don't really want him rostered, but I don't think this is part of the potential consequences. If the court says he's eligible to play by NCAA rules, they wouldn't really have a standing to vacate games.
And the SEC doesn't really have the power to do that.
The SEC can do other things to make our lives hell, which is part of the reason I don't want him rostered. The other part of the reason is that he already made the decision to not be a college player anymore despite having remaining eligibility at the time of the decision.

We are named in this suit we were not named in the football case

No one player is worth this much heat. Many of our fans aren't thinking rationally.

I thought the judge inserted us into the football case in a similar capacity?
I am very clearly not a lawyer, so I could be grossly misunderstanding that.

How is RJ Luis situation any different than the one with the Alabama player?
Posted on 10/28/26 at 4:45 pm to Chicken
One played for Bama, the other wants to play for LSU
