Personally, I'd just let this go if I were LSU and Kiffin. It's not worth the trouble.
i reluctantly agree

This isn't going to amount to anything. He's not playing for us.

yes, i have done this myself in the past due to others not following court orders as i have been in all levels of court filings/proceedings with lawsuits.
I shoulda known better having been through this. for some reason i was over thinking it and this sports stuff was handled differently. well then the players need to get a hearing with the judge and ask for it to be enforced. That is how i did it.
and yes judge can grow some nuts and have that clown arrested once other steps are followed as discussed. point still stands. it CAN be done.

This is just so, when he wins this case, he can sue the SEC for monetary damages / “lost wages” he would have made in NIL should LSU had been able to roster him.
Correct - pretty sure LSU is no longer involved in this anymore.

How has Kiffin not let this go? How is any of this on LSU? The players are doing this.

Also, this is about a basketball player, last I checked Lane coaches football.

I would prefer we just move on. Hopefully there isn't a paper trail showing us pushing Luis to file this suit.
We have a good roster and I agree that he probably shouldn't be eligible. Why risk further issues?

Sankey is getting beat in every direction. He should throw in the towel and return to his hole.

None of this is LSU's doing. I don't know what yall are expecting LSU to do here.
- The SEC threatened LSU not to roster RJ Luis.
- LSU DID NOT roster RJ Luis.
- The SEC still is kicking and screaming, and taking LSU to court over rules that LSU followed.
- RJ Luis files a suit against the SEC, for preventing him from playing for LSU.
Not one bit of this has to do with LSU. So what exactly do you want LSU to do here?
You can replace RJ Luis, with the two football players, and it's the same exact story. I am not sure what yall are wanting LSU to drop, whenever they have nothing to drop.

So, give in to the SEC and Greg Stankey? A court ruled that Luis can play. Other schools are rostering & playing athletes that were given the same verdict. So, roster and play him. Or sue the SEC or any SEC school that is trying to block orders from a judge.
Until then, STFU Stankey. Apply the same rules to everyone and don't pick and choose.

Setting up a lawsuit against LSU for not rostering him.
Can sue SEC for saying he could not play. Then sue LSU for not rostering him if he has a court order that says he can play and LSU cannot be punished.
One or the other would have to be at fault right?

The SEC can love it or hate it. LSU isn’t the party filing the petition. Luis’s attorney is.
We honestly need to let this go. I feel like we have played with fire long enough. Yes, Sankey is an a-hole. Yes, LSU seems to be being singled out. Yes, other people seem to be rostering kids in a manner not much different than us.
But I think it is just time to lay low for a while. Figure out how to get through this season and then build a roster the way the General knows how to do.

Dude, he was a legit, bonafied pro. Drafted, traded etc
quote:
On June 26, 2025 after being undrafted in the 2025 NBA draft, Luis signed a two-way contract with the Utah Jazz.[16] On August 6, Luis was traded alongside an $8 million trade exception to the Boston Celtics in exchange for Georges Niang and two future second-round draft picks.[17] He was waived on October 15, before the start of the season.[18] Following his cut, Luis signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Celtics' NBA G League affiliate, the Maine Celtics.[19] Luis was waived by the Maine Celtics before the start of the season due to an injury.[14]
Its done, he was a pro. This isnt a grey area. On this certain guy, i can see why the SEC draws a line. Just step away from it being LSU, and realize what youre arguing about.

Luis will prevail on this motion. Punishing LSU for playing a player that can legally play is just indirect blatant contempt of court.

Checks out. Why can't I ask ChatGPT to remove Chat GPT permanently from the Tiger Rant?
