Realistic landing spots for Baker- Don’t see a Big 2 job in his future this year.

If the guy bolts it will have to be a Group of 5 program.

Reasoning:
1) very few jobs open this year in SEC and Big X

2) Underwhelming in critical times with games on the line.

It’s Group of 5 job for Bake if he wants a HC job next year.

Think he could at least get a low level B10 job

Baker is not going to leave unless it’s a perfect fit. He makes 3 mil a year, he’s only 44 and is coaching now with an offense that is going to relieve tons of pressure off his defense. He’s never had it so good.

He pretty much controls his own destiny. I don't see CLK getting rid of him.

LSU currently has the #2 defense in the country, using FEI

I mean, perfect example of stats do not tell the entire story and boy is it never more true than this. Not exactly a new thing either. It has the been the same story with him every year at LSU. His defenses routinely collapse at the end of halfs and games for critical score drives.

I wonder how much he really desires to be a HC?

We know he stayed last year one because there were no jobs he liked and because his family is so happy here. Inlaws being in Mandeville sure doesn't hurt either. He is making 3 Mil a year and doesn't have to directly deal with the bullshite a HC does. Everyone has their own career aspirations but if it was me I would stay here till they ran me off.

Look at the points he's allowing and look at other teams. FPI has LSUs defense at #1. LSUs offense failed up on multiple drives at ole miss and kentucky.

If you think LSU's offense is the reason for the 2 losses you didn't watch the games and you also didn't pay attention to how the other team won the games.

He's horrible in 2 minute defense. He's not a bad DC except in these moments. He morphs into an entirely different DC and forgets his identity. As I said above, it's not hard to point to many games especially against big opponents he has done this over the years at LSU.

LSU's offense put up more than enough points to beat Kentucky on the road. Both times Baker went against what was working in the game to hand free drives to both offenses to win the game. It's maddening because it's nothing new.

A week ago yall thought he should be coaching high school ball.

Let’s just wait for the season to play out and see if his name pops up in the openings.

Don’t forget a big part of him coming here was his wife wanting to come back to LA. I don’t think they wanna pick up and go again already.

NC State would be a good spot. Low expectations from the fanbase. They just want to be competitive

Baker is still figuring it out. He has a young family in a city that they love and a school his wife graduated from. Maybe he doesn’t want to be a head coach right now. Maybe he doesn’t want to uproot his family at such a young age. I honestly don’t see him leaving unless we win it all in which a bigger school will come calling but I dont see him leaving for a smaller school, otherwise he would have went to Tulane last year which is where he played ball.

If expectations were low they would have kept who they had.

No your just a pussy that needs to learn football. Now hop on back and get those fries salted.

BTW, if lane makes the 4th and 1 instead of punting like he woulda done 99% of the time LSU wins. So yes that one's on the offense.

Maryland I know has been rumored for Brian Kelly but thats a really good job for the right person. Ton of talent in that area and a good financial situation as far as boosters go.

If South Carolina came open, he would bolt for that job.
