Trust LSU fans to negatively judge and over react to something that was 4 months away from being finished

How do you you feel about these pictures now that the season isn’t 4 months away anymore? Do you think it looks good?

So wait, players sitting in the bullpen aren’t gonna be able to watch the game from the right field wall? They gotta look through the bleachers from the bullpen area? Why wouldn’t they have a bench up on the fence.

looks like they can watch the game just fine

No one should be shocked by this anymore. The stadium looked cheap when it opened. Remember when they didn’t even bother to finish building the suites out. Skip didn’t have the forethought to build with the future in mind, he just wanted another shrine to himself that looked like the previous.

Both the LF and RF concourses need to be stripped down to the ground and redone. The concourses should run all the way to the foul poles. This would allow for spaces underneath for visiting locker room and club lounges/annex space. Then you could put proper chair backs all the way down the lines. The outfield’s look like a complete joke.

Instead of doing proper buildouts, the focus was on adding premium space that now overshadows fans that have had prime seating behind what used to be the bullpens.

I hope this picture isnt it being finished, but I do realize that even mlb bullpens are pretty basic. It looks like they have some type of black backdrop behind the pitchers mounds. I hope they put that behind the catcher so the background the pitcher is throwing towards isn't an open chain fence.

I realize on the regular field behind home plate is open seating, but thats farther away and you do at least have the green border that goes up a couple of feet.

This is me and is my biggest complaint about this entire shitshow! I bought font row seats 16 years ago and every year since for a reason...now I'm behind a bunch of ugly field boxes!

And these people likely won’t show up and the ushers will be tyrannical if you try to sit there.

STFU. Nothing about the New Box when it first opened was a shrine to Skip other than his number on the wall. Even if it was, who cares. He was, and will always be LSU baseball. He has been gone for almost 18 years, and you think they still listen to him about cost?

I get sick of our inbred side of the fanbase with their little made-up histories, just to shite on LSU legends like him.

He's been gone 18 years and it's his fault that LSU hasn't poured more into ABS?? I hate our fanbase with its little made-up histories just to shite on LSU players and coaches. How much do you contribute?

Simmer down fella. No need to respond with the exact same message quoting the exact same post. Alex Box now looks cheap and outdated compared to other venues in the SEC. It just is what it is.

Another half arse attempt by LSU. That look horrible and I have seen travel ball fields with better bullpens than that.

The only way to take the bullpen off the field without removing seats was putting it underneath the bleachers.

You do it the right way and develop a true bull pen and put in all new stands. It looks like total shite and done on the cheap.

It is. The height of the outfield wall is ~10 feet. The bleachers come down at an angle and, at their lowest point, are 10 ft off the ground. Shaquille O'Neal's standing reach was 9'5", for reference

The cover is lower than the bottom of the bleachers.

That's an 8 foot ladder and it's taller than the lowest part of the roof on the left. There's no way a 6'6" pitcher can feel comfortable throwing with a roof that low over the left mound.

Everything LSU does is an unmitigated disaster and a joke.

I understand if people aren't thrilled with the esthetics, but if it weren't for these pictures, no one but the players would have any idea what the bullpen even looks like.

You won't be able to see the bullpen from the stands, so as long as Jay Johnson and the pitchers are okay with it, that's all that matters. I would think the pitchers and catchers prefer it over being on the field.

It was built three years too soon

LSU TAF has plenty of money if they want to do an Alex Box renovation. They aren’t hurting for money. It probably time.

Look at those fans. At least they recognize they built an oven. Going to feel great down there I'm sure.
