Just had a sluggish start after the Ted Ginn run back

Ginn wasn't on that team. He returned the opening kick against Florida the previous year before OSU blew that championship game. He was drafted in 2007. The run you're thinking of was Beanie Wells 65-yard TD run on the 4th play of the game.

Thinking about it… they lost the previous year to Florida

How confident were LSU fans back in 2007 when Ohio State went up 10-0 early?

just to be an arse I'm gonna say "it was 2008 not 2007" but to answer your question:

When Beanie Wells broke that run, my wife looked at me in the Superdome and "are we in trouble?"

I told her, "we got this, last year in the championship game they returned the opening kickoff for a TD and then got stomped 41-14!"

I had zero doubt and that was that! :geauxtigers:

LSU is going to beat that arse so bad that the NCAA will immediately issue a run rule for football.

I agree, running clock in mid-third quarter!

These are the people who were "Glad he's leaving" after Saban lost the bowl game to Iowa!

Is there good video of this somewhere? I didn't see it live and I can't seem to find a good video. I only find a phone video from high behind the plate.
no gonna happen, they would need to maintain their 2.67/game average for 22 more games...they have 6 more regular season games, possibly 4 in hoover, 4 in a regional, 3 in a super regional, with that they would need 4 games in Omaha minimum. Their average will take a hit in Hoover and if they make it to Omaha as well.

The record is safe!

Why? Is there some saying that I’m unaware of like “you never make the second out at home?”

No, but there are many opportunities to drive in a runner from 3B with less than 2 outs. I think that's what the poster meant. If he holds him, there's a high chance he scores on the next ab. Kinda like not stealing on a 3-0 count. :geauxtigers:

Patrick is a freak athlete I can see taking a Brown leap by year 3. But he may play CF.

He's got some work to do for that, he looked lost in RF at points this weekend!

The shift claims another victim smh

Where those 7 coming from?

I don't think 13 get's it done and it is tough but not impossible...

1 from State
3 from USCe
1 from UGA
go into the final weekend at The Box needing 2 wins against UF...not likely but not out of the question.

There are 7 wins to be had...but things would need to change significantly to get them. :geauxtigers:

I mean, sure, it's speculation but catcher is a big source of problems on this team right now. Their defense is terrible and that's one position you can't have bad defense at. You can make excuses for Bide all you want but this is year 2 and his glove is still awful. His bat doesn't make up for that. If they can target a big catcher in the portal one of those guys is walking. I seriously doubt they're sitting behind someone.

There's absolutely NO way Jay is coming into next season without a sure glove at catcher next season even if he's a dead bat. Part of LSU's problem is him banking on guys like Bide to make a big progression with his glove and he failed.

It's a simple as they're welcome to stay and maybe make a big jump in progression but he's not going to take that chance again next year..

Sure, you can find an experienced defensive catcher to hit .200. The problem is finding one that also hits .300. Tough ask for a freshman to come in and do both year 1.

Bide and Serna are top 5 highest rated catchers out of high school in their class. Bide was awful last season behind the plate. He got much better as the season progressed and into this season.

I don't need one to hit .300, I need one to hit .200 and be a wall! I get that they were the top rated HS catchers and that's why I said I'd look for a solid defensive catcher in the portal.

I disagree...their focus should be on receiving first and stealing strike 2nd. I'm talking dropped 3rd strikes and passed balls not wild pitches.

A program like LSU should realistically be able to expect their pitchers to bury a breaking ball and have full confidence in the catcher to chest it up and keep it in front. I'm not saying it's easy, I'm saying that there are a lot of guys out there who can do it and hit .200 in the SEC! It's not a big ask!
