Not a single person I know or has seen thinks he’s the greatest coach in college basketball but that he can can build a winning program here

Thread on page 1 discussing how LSU could win a natty in basketball and football this year now that Wade is back.

I don't claim to be anti-pear; I am very fond of tPear. LSU bball will certainly be more relevant than it has been the last 4 years, but it's not like I think he's going to turn us into a powerhouse. Maybe that makes me anti-pear in some people's minds, or maybe it makes me realistic.

In my view, the majority of the excitement is a result of a few things: McMahon tenure sucked and it's a big frick you to the national media guys like Dicky V, Pat Forde, and Jay Bilas (which I also love). Anyone thinking we are natty bound just because he's back is delusional and unrealistic based on the results the first time around. Hope I'm proven wrong in time

at the end of the day he is under contract and would have been obligated to work.

I get your premise, but we have examples of coaches under contract who were not working for LSUs benefit if we are to believe the reports.

Those were both teams that got to where they were because of the coach

This thread is a good example of an unrealistic expectation that will have half the fanbase clamoring to fire one or both of them when an inevitable let down happens. I'm glad Wade is back, but let's not pretend like he had LSU as a contender during his time here. Kiffin hasn't proven anything beyond being able to coach up a QB and have a high-powered offense.
Would love to see, but tPear never sniffed more than the Sweet 16 (which he didn't coach) and Lane has never even coached in the playoffs.

Even wilder is LSU held no formal coaching search. There are multiple reasons this is going to get raked over by the media.

What gets me is that we were apparently going to keep MM if tPear didn't come.

1. Why would he want to stay (unless no one else is going to hire him)?
2. Why would we let him stay after what he's put on the court the last 4 years?

the ticket prices for the baseball games are outrageous

We went a few years ago when the Tigers went nuts and scored 21 runs. The prices this year are insane and I'm gonna wait until day of to buy tickets hoping the prices will drop. I was planning to go Friday night and Sunday afternoon but we'll see.
Would love to know the thought process behind a goal line fade to nic Anderson at the end of the game when I don’t recall him being targeted or really involved all game up to that point
You aren’t. Him not playing to prep for the draft is a total joke.

Johnson played as did Tyree Adams. Breaux was also dressed but didn’t notice him play. Delane was on the sideline in sweats (don’t blame him for not playing).

The biggest shock to me was the commentators saying that West Weeks opted out to prep for the draft. What in the world

ETA: Curne was also dressed last night

Pussy move by the service member to pull the hat stunt. I say that cause he knew he wouldn’t get much backlash because of the uniform. One way trolls aren’t cool!

There was a lot more issues prior to the game even starting including OM not allotting any tickets for family members of the flyover crew which is pretty standard practice, and my friend reported that the ole miss fans didn’t have any issues hitting them with frick yous. It’s a rivalry and you got guys from the base adjacent to Starkville to do a flyover. What would you expect?
Didn’t some Northwestern players try to unionize a decade or so ago? I think it failed but funny of all schools it was that one. Back in the Pat Fitzgerald golden era I think
Had a pilot buddy do the flyover for the Egg Bowl in Oxford last year. He lives in Starkville and all the pilots were told not to wear State gear by OM for the on field presentation because they all had their hats with them. One of the guys pulled out his hat on the field which led to a complaint by Ole Miss's athletic director to the base commander and also demanded an in person apology. OM softer than baby shite, but we all knew that.

Mike Johnson in the house. Great thread, man. Seriously superb work

Old school.

This ain’t 1975 anymore baw. Unfortunately for old folk fans, these kids know how much money they can make in 6 months, and playing in the Texas bowl and getting $200 per diem and a duffle bag won’t move the needle.

I remember Jontre playing QB against KState being the most entertaining part of that game.

That’s because they kicked our arse

We got our asses kicked and you know what that backup WR that started at QB said post game? He said he’d line that shite up again tomorrow and do it again if he had to.

The career backup that got to play his high school position said he’d want to play the game again?? I’m shocked
I remember when the Nets hired Steve Nash to coach kyrie and KD. Kyrie said it wasn’t a big deal to hire a first time coach because they didn’t even need a coach. They sucked arse

Make every team which opts out of bowl game ineligible for any bowl game or playoff games the next season.

You really think any conference commissioner is going to vote in favor of such a measure? You’re out of your mind

maybe more if Aaron Anderson leaves early.

I could be wrong but thought I saw that AAnderson participated in senior day activities?
I'm remembering all those highly recruited classes that O brought in and how they didn't really address specific needs but loaded up on star value in places we didn't need it. Excellent recruiting
