LSU baseball will be so much more enjoyable for me when maineri is gone. I just do not like the guy.

What process has Aaron George getting all these relief appearances?

Aaron George should not under any circumstances be relied upon in a pressure situation. He’s proven that time and time again.

This was my reaction in the game thread when he was announced:

George is not a guy I like inheriting runners. And Milazzo had trouble with his breaking ball yesterday. I don’t like this move.

Maybe you should be a coach. I don’t think you would be successful. Arm chair coaches that only talk. That’s all they can do is talk and complain. Kids.

If fontenot is the closer, which he is, then why pitch him in a non close situation game yesterday?

This is the real issue.

It’s all scripted. He wanted Fontenot to throw an inning in game one. It had nothing to do with strategy. PM had his pitching set. He had it set today and Floyd messed up. George was put in probably because he had a rubber arm and wasn’t going to pitch tomorrow.

Pawl is so devoid of any energy I'm tired of looking at his zombie arse in the dugout. The players are a reflection of their coach. We need some enthusiasm here. Time to let Pawl go. It's time for him and us to have a change.

Quit watching this clown show middle of last year and don't intend to watch this year. For all the "Lesticles" Mainieri boosters....enjoy the show!! Another year wasted.

There was no “middle” of last year. Dumb.

Supporters will say Paul always does this to find the right lineup and get hot in the SECT

Yea it’s amazing how we always “””heat up””” in the SEC tournament because Paul coaches like his life depends on each game while all the good teams cruise and don’t give a shite because they already have National seeds locked up

I know some of you retards may not understand this, but Fontenot is more important to our season long success and has more of a future in baseball than George.

You can quibble with whether he should have been used at all yesterday, but not pitching him today was the right move.

The purpose of playing games is to win. Fontenot will pitch back to back games many times this year. Saving him this one time is not going to save his future from certain peril.

And as for getting guys reps, which is the excuse some people have used, that's what midweek games and mop up duty is for. And, yes, if saving Fontenot's precious arm is so important, then you don't throw him in a game with a five run lead, either. If we're not doing everything we can to maximize our best assets in the most critical situations, as opposed to non-critical situations, then why are we playing the games at all?

And this isn't an isolated incident. This has been a theme over recent years. Poor, poor management. The talent level keeps the team competitive, but if a coach is worth his salary he can't goof up simple things like this.

Can't use our best closer to close because he pitched yesterday.

He pitched when we were leading 6-1, I think. Certainly didn't need him in a run away game. PM should have known he would probably get a bounce back by AF and therefore need his best two closers. Even if he didn't need them he could still give them an appearance today or Monday.

Arnold would never come out of the lineup if he can keep up Saturday's pace, or close to it. Felt like that was a "tip of the hat" to Michael Bianco.

starts Helmers again. Yesterday he went 0 for with fielding errors, promptly goes 0 for and has 3 errors today
Safford have better numbers in fall and spring scrimmages than other candidates at third. Haven't seen him yet at 3rd in two games.

It's game 2 and he's already in mid season form.

No sac bunt in B9 either because I am sure he was playing his hunches. Not a fan.

Crews homered and no one else reached base in the 9th. At one point do you think he should have called for a “sac bunt”?

This is kind of the ultimate version of Paul logic. Vietmeier has been getting an inning or two of work his whole career (now a senior) to develop him for a pressure situation where we need a few good relief innings. He gets the call and pitches a great inning and is pulled. For Trent, when is his payoff? He's been doing his inning here, inning there thing for years and finally has a shot to use his skills and gets pulled for doing well.

This.

Just because Hellmers can field 20 balls in practice doesn’t mean he is ready to play third in a game.

Okay, so if the guy bats and fields well in practice how do you find out if he's okay to play in a game?

When LSU rallied to take the eighth inning lead I could not believe the enthusiasm. Beloso was jumping around like a mad man, so I think you are just making things up.

He has never proven to be reliable. He tops out at 90mph and has high walk, hit and HR rate

Floyd has been awesome in the scimmages.

No reason to over think the decision
