Are you people so nieve or stupid to realize this is a fantastic marketing campaign to make mote money Dumbass
are you aware that around 30% goes to different charities?
so great, Rocco’s makes a few extra dollars they ordinarily wouldn’t have made.
from LSU alone that’s $103k that went to Baton Rouge and Omaha food banks

Hey Gordon, no one is saying that what you did wasn't that.
Doesn't mean you still didn't ruin the contest.

I just wish we didn't have Gordon and Todd get into a marketing turf war to create the artificial number of 68,000. They took something cool, that LSU fans organically would've set a record without their help, and turned into corporate BS.
100%.
It was going to be a monster organic Victory and these two fricking tools watered it down to nothing.

I agree. I have no issue with their making big purchases, and I have no issue with their getting publicity from it. But everytime I see that 68,888 total and know that Gordon did it intentionally to match his phone number, it rubs me the wrong way. It puts far too big of a stamp on something that he only played a small part in.
I'm glad this stupid Jello shot challenge is a flop. $5 for a Jello Shot is asinine

Which is why Gordon and Todd coming in making it more about them than the fans is so dumb and self-serving.
Yall let some pretty dumb crap bother yall.
That fact that we would've smoked the record without their help means more.
If we had barely taken the record directly due to these guys buying 15k shots, I would've had a problem with that. But we took the record with or without their help.

70K or some lawfirm from another team wants to get some positive PR and breaks the record.

Eh I’m pretty sure Tennessee and A&M games this year are outdrawing games from last year.
Tickets are very easy to get vs. when Lsu is there so not as big a draw maybe TV

Even without Mr. Cane's and BR Lawyer LSU would still beat anyone! They bought 15k shots I think Graves bought around 6k and Gordon bought 8888.

Some of it was funny like the end part of this isn't baton rouge but found the article more annoying than anything else.

You should know that there is no better draw than LSU baseball in Omaha. So no they probably aren’t.

I saw this in another post:
A&M Games
25774
25327
25429
UT Games
25499
25140
24696
Capacity: 24,505
Believe it or not, attendance for A&M and UT is up from Lsu the year before.
2023 Lsu (before finals)
25010
24958
24874
25214
23993
You don't have to be disingenuous and so that there hasn't been a good atmosphere in Omaha

This year, with LSU out, some of their fans asked the bar about adding LSU to the shot leaderboard. But Rocco's told them no, as it is reserved for MCWS qualifiers. If LSU fans were included, they thought, then the Nebraska fanbase would want in, too.
So Rocco's encouraged Tigers fans to give money to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank instead. A QR code was set up for donations, and McEvoy said as of Wednesday afternoon, more than $7,000 had been raised.

"Knowing LSU fans and our community, I would not be surprised if they outdo all other teams," Mike Manning, president and CEO of the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank, said in a release on the food bank's website. "We take immense pride not only in our sports teams but also in making a difference."

Well when you have two teams playing for their first CWS title ever I would hope so...

McEvoy said that as of Tuesday night, the overall numbers for the eight teams were on pace with last year's totals.
I find this hard to believe, maybe if A&M & Tenn put in some work the final tally can match LSU's number from last year.
Also agree with many that I hate that it was organically growing, especially with the fact that Ole Miss was the previous record holder, then Graves & Gordon artificially inflated the number.

It's easy to track; I'm sure each team has a named shot in the POS system.
I'm also fairly certain that Gordon paid them a chunk of money to let him "buy" the exact number of shots *after* the competition ended to exactly equal *8,888.
That's actually the part I have the most issue with. Buy your 8,888 shots and publicize the hell out of it, but don't forcefully leave your stamp on the final number. That's bullshite.
Posted on 6/21/24 at 12:32 pm to Nutriaitch
Gordon bought a lot, didn't say how many, and then obviously bought the number to get the final total to end in 8888.

The rant being upset that Gordon and Todd bought a bunch of jello shots to support Rocco's and LSU is one of the weird things that the rant just bitches to bitch.

I know what my experience was while attending CWS last year and I also know what emails I am getting about ticket availability.
You sure took a leap in calling me disingenuous.
