Will there be as big a controversy for the 12th spot next year?

If you watch the march madness selection show for like 60 plus teams you know they’ll always be controversy.

Yeah you're right.

Just many are saying let's get through this year and we won't have it anymore.

Alabama is never missing a playoff again under the new format. They would have to go 8-4.

There will be controversy, but it’ll blow over the same afternoon.

Arguing teams 12 and 13 isn’t the same as arguing top 4 playoffs or the old top 2 in BCS.

It’ll be similar to the last 4 teams being left out of March Madness… it’s a talking point for the evening and then quickly forgotten.

There are 13 teams who have an argument for the final 4 spots if the 12 team playoff happened this season. The new playoff model will be a shite show.

What’s bad is that it will be even worse. There is no clear separation between 8-15 like there is with top 5 and everyone else.

It will never be this controversial, but there will be the occasional drama.

It will actually be a controversy over number 11. Number 12 will almost certainly always be the auto qualifier from the group of 5.

Well LSU just polled at 13. Mizzou is 9.
LSU beat Mizzou in Columbia.

So……YES

Yeah but as the 13th seed you don’t have the same argument as the 5th seed it’ll be more like college basketball where as when a team doesn’t get in you talk about it for 30 minutes then forget about it

Similar discussion for a couple of hours, but otherwise no.

After MBB Selection Sunday shows are over, nobody really cares.

No, because the -2th spot goes to the highest ranked Group of 5 team
