These findings are only about football dealing with James Cregg
It’s still bullshite that Tristan Leigh was allowed to lie and continue the charade that he hadn’t made his decision after signing during the ESD.

Punishing current players is the dumbest. The entire staff has been wiped. Fine the hell out of Cregg, and do something with compliance procedures.

If they ever legalize weed, you can bet your arse they will do something about anyone in jail for it.

What team didn't violate the COVID rules on recruiting?
Pretty much every team was hosting recruits on unofficials during COVID. They would even show up unannounced at schools.
They still haven't released anything on ASU

Cregg didn’t even land the recruit lol.

I thought that they already had to pay Cregg?
He did just receive a judgment in his favor saying LSU had to pay him. The guy was recruiting during the dead period and it took the NCAA this long to have a finding? It's not like this was a decades-long scandal.

Curious to see what that do when paying players through NIL deals to come to your school is now perfectly acceptable.
This is absurd, the NCAA’s credibility is gone. It’s like prosecuting people for drinking liquor. Once NIL was santioned by the Court, there should be no prosecution for paying players. If LSU is hit, I’d take the NCAA to real Court not NCAa court.

I believe a big part of his argument in that lawsuit was that the NCAA had never found him to have violated any rules. Would be interesting depending on what comes out today.

Wasn’t the whole thing with Cregg that LSU had to pay him because they fired him without cause? Or more specifically, they fired him “for cause” but it turned out that they couldn’t prove he’d done anything wrong.
So, if LSU gets hit with sanctions related to Cregg the shouldn’t have to pay him or he should have to pay that money back, right?
ETA: Poster Above beat me to it.

guess the recruits weren't impressed by his super bowl ring.

With that statement, LSU should make sure you graduate with honors!!

REMEMBER WHEN THE NCAA CALLED THIS A VIOLATION
Womack signed a financial aid agreement with LSU last August with a plan to enroll at LSU in January of 2015. He committed to the Tigers during a visit in July. According to NCAA rules, at the point Womack signed with LSU, LSU coaches and other staff members could have unlimited contact with him since he planned to be an early enrollee. Contact with other unsigned prospects is very restricted in a given year.
That rule has a curious risk or loophole attached, though, because if the signee changes his mind about school A and goes to a school B, school A – or in this case LSU - can be punished for the unlimited contact privileges it had in the first place.
A Sept. 15, 2014, story in Gannett's Jackson (Miss.) Clarion Ledger quoted Womack's father, David Womack, saying that LSU was concerned with this very loophole.

I agree with all of this, but I don't think it's what they got Cregg for. I believe he was recruiting Leigh during the dead period (so like in person meetings with the recruit during a time where contact wasn't allowed).

Yep, and the cocksuckers used it against us.
Dope finished his career at Alabama by losing to LSU. I think he lasted a few days in the CFL.

Knowing our luck, the NCAA will treat this like Custer's last stand.

Oh yeah because there are hundreds of thousands of ppl in jail for a simple weed charge. Nope I don’t buy that, weed may have been raised on but they have other shite that put them there.

Probation one year. Cregg three year show cause.
