Where were they picked to end up preseason? SC first, LSU eighth. Dawn maintained what was expected. LSU exceeded all expectations. Hence, Mulkey did a far better job than anyone expected with far less talent than SC.

fricking joke! Preseason number 1 in conference and nationally. LSU picked yo finish 2nd tier of SEC and not ranked at all.

I probably could’ve stomached the lady from Florida getting coach of the year over Mulkey just based on what she had to overcome as an interim in the middle of the season.

would make no sense at all and should be a black eye to the conference COY process for a coach winning the national award without winning their own conference award.

So Jim Harbaugh won the National Coach of the Year, but Mel Tucker won the Big Ten coach of the year from Coaches and Media? Is this a black eye?

Anyone mention who won it last year? Joni Taylor from UGA.
Compare her turnaround to Mulkey's below. Nevermind Taylor had a damned good team in 2018 as well.

You are spot on! Let he have it because that just motivates Coach Mulkey. Enjoy it while you can!

Yes. It's terrible. Luke Fickell should have won it.

Absolute joke.

Mulkey should be in the running for coach of the year period, not SEC, NCAA.

There are certain qualifications you need in order to be selected for awards and high positions. Take the latest Supreme Court pick. It's not about qualifications or experience or results any more.

The irony is saying it's about race, ignoring that she does coach the #1 team in the country, and saying she's the one quick to play the race card. I thought Finley would win but it's not like it's crazy that the coach of the #1 team has an legit argument for the COY award. So many here are quick to blame race then call others racists.

So, if Brian Kelly has LSU second in the SEC with only 39 scholarship players left over from the previous year and a team that had a losing record and Nick Saban wins another title, Nick deserves the award over Brian?

Get the frick out of here with that bull shite. It is where you start, what people predicted where you would finish and how you finished.

frick off.

I'm not a fricking baby so I wouldn't cry if Kelly didn't win it. But the coach of the conference winner always has an legit argument for COY. Mulkey and Finley probably split some votes and and a majority probably just defaulted to the conference winning coach.

Since you referenced football, Kirby and Nick won SEC COY of the year the last two seasons. You think they were picked at the bottom preseason?
Also, Mulkey just said on her coach's show that when she was in the Big 12 she suggested they just give the COY to the conference winner.

Said Fargas would still be here if she got the support Mulkey did. What a joke
The inference was that LSU fans are Racist by giving KIM more support because she is White European American Caucasian.

Coaching, Recruiting, Roster Management, Program Organization and Winning have nothing do with the LSU fan base support of KM, huh Dawn?.

Hell Mulkey shouldn’t just be the SEC Women's Coach of the Year but she should also win the National Women's Coach of the Year Award.

You think Staley wins 25 games this season w/LSUs players? Doubtful but maybe?
And now who thinks Mulkey doesn't Win the just as many games as Staley if she were coaching USCe? ABSOLUTELY!

Nuff said!

Dawn Staley isn’t the best coach in this conference, and she knows it. That’s why she made her whiny comments after they barely escaped LSU this year. She knows what Mulkey will do once she has time to recruit. In the future, those 13 All Americans on the South Carolina roster will be looking at LSU.

Then Nick Saban should be SEC coach of the year every year when Bama is number 1 in the country, right?

I mean they are #1 in the country and have one loss. That's pretty deserving

She maintained, Mulkey had a much bigger task on her hands.

Since 1998 Nick Saban has only won coach of the year twice.
