Unreal. Les Miles shouldn't have been allowed to board the plane back home that night

Does winning the toss and electing to kick count? Had to kick to start both halfs. That's when you know you have a good defense.
That was vs. Texas A& M in Tiger Stadium before they joined the SEC. Curly Hallman was the coach.

quote:There’s a great video of College Gameday in Baton Rouge for that one with everybody very fired up that morning with the SEC West within our grasp. Man that Dinardo tenure was filled with almost’s. Could never get over the hump and even up until the end losing to Alabama on the last play. Such a huge change when we actually won the big games with Saban.

Two of many clock snafus by Les Miles.
The worst was forgetting to call time out at Ole Miss when Jordan Jefferson was the quarterback. That was the worst clock management I have ever seen.
Next was the debacle in Tiger Stadium against Tennessee in the game we ended up winning because Tennessee had too many men on the field.

It’s the Tennessee one in 2010. They spent nearly 40 seconds eventually screwing that up.

After reading this thread, I’ll add some embarrassing moments…
Ed O calling UCLA sissy blue on gameday while we proceed to get our arse kicked
Also losing to a soft USC team in Vegas after waiting decades to finally play them. Followed the game was the BK fist slam

This thread is straight up embarrassing and I physically can’t watch these gifs or pictures anymore

There was no pain quite like “the interception game” vs Auburn in 1994.
LSU threw six total interceptions in a 30-26 loss. LSU quarterback Jamie Howard threw five of these in the fourth quarter alone—three of which were returned for touchdowns—as Auburn erased a 23-9 deficit to win.
You can’t make this stuff up.

First and foremost for me was Cam Jordan fumbling the ball and deciding to jump back away from it instead of jumping on the ball late in the Super Bowl with the game on the line. Definition of a pussy in my eyes.
Second was when Garo Yepremian had a field goal blocked and he picked up the ball and tried to throw a pass that slipped miserably from his hand and popped up in the air. It was picked off by a Redskin defender and returned for a TD.

I went to that Georgia game and it was awful. Only game I’ve ever had opposing fans throwing drinks on me

Miles was clearly the dumbest field coach ever in college football.

Spiking the ball with one second left on clock at Ole Miss. In FG FG range. Thanks to ClueLes Miles.

I’m pretty sure it was Brady James that made the call and Saban was the coach.

There was nearly a minute left and lsu, needing a field goal, was on the old miss 40ish yard line, and, somehow, they ran out of time. Pretty unbelievable.

Ole Miss end of game where JJ clocks it with 1 second

The fact that he never breaks stride from throwing to trying to tackle, is so fricking funny.
Took years for me to find it funny, but its pretty hilarious in hindsight.

Everything has been listed already
But even with the Max backward pass, Jefferson shuttle pass, stuffed 4th down vs UF in the moved hurricane game, and the 2022 SECCG missed FG TD Return...
It's still the untimed Tennessee play where we won
So embarrassing to even be in that situation and to have won based off of stupidity in both directions
