We beat Mike Leach and Mississippi State at home to start 1-0 in the conference after losing to Florida State in his 1st year. Desperately needed that one.

Doesn’t that trendy term describe someone who is not actually good at what they do despite being handed the position? Doesn’t apply here.

Just from memory I believe there actually was a bluesman called Tommy Johnson whom the legend was originally ascribed to, although the far more well-known Robert Johnson did write Crossroads Blues, Hellhound on my Trail, and Me and the Devil. I thought it was kind of cool naming him Tommy because the Coen Brothers may have been commenting on the nature of myths being retold.

These are your top three. LSU fans are just ridiculous. The Swamp is the last place I want to be when it’s a close game, and it seems clear from TV that Auburn gets into it more than Bama and maybe more than Georgia or A&M. A&M is tough, but I don’t like the choreographed vibe. Tennessee probably too high but they used to always be #1 in these things in the 90s. I felt like USCe is nice but mildly overrated. Doesn’t have the killer instinct like Tiger Stadium.

Actually Justin McMillan had surprisingly beaten out Myles Brennan in the spring that year which was partly why O was desperate for a QB although McMillan did end up doing well after transferring to Tulane.

It's really just the huge mistake of adding OU and UT to the conference, making it too unlikely to get more than 3 teams to 10-2.

Chavis had a great plan for it actually, he lined the DEs a few yards wide of the OTs and had them pinch from the outside, taking away the QBs ability to shake the DE and get outside the pocket. Also was great for the jet sweep read options like Oregon's. Thus why someone like Danielle Hunter didn't have many sacks, because he wasn't lined up on the tackle like a pass rusher.

So Baker could be trying other things in that area. The way I remember it the past few years, when we had Perkins spy the QB they couldn't make any plays and then we would stop doing that and they'd go for a big scramble.

So are the other TEs good?

No he did not play in the NFL :lol: It was amazing that Saban got him to where he wasn’t beaten EVERY time and could at least compete but still a major liability until his last game. I respect his improvement though.
