Mett was very good, but Burrow has a chance to be a once in a generation type player

So, that means Heisman for sure as well as All-SEC 1st team, All America first team and a #1 overall draft pick. Is that what you see in Burrow?

Eta: What would that make Haskins?

After 4 years of Jefferson/Lee, I was more excited about Mettenberger.

Mett very well may have been a bigger deal, I remember the Metten"burger" stuff.

I am still more excited about Burrow. Can't go wrong with either though. The thing with Mett is he was not a starter right away.. We pretty much figure Burrow is the guy immediately.

Burrow. He can move and he’s a competitor
Mett was too chill, couldn’t read a defense- missed wide open te and receivers al the time. Just had 2 of the best WR in LSU history to throw to

Mett was way immobile which was a big limitation, Burrow seems to be a more complete QB

My wife danced at Butler during Mett's 1 year at BUCO. I watched every game he played. When I heard he was going to LSU, I knew we were in good hands. Kid had it. Still wish the D could have held off UGA in 13 for him.

Burrow seems to be everything we could ask for. Couple more weeks and we will know for sure.

An average defense in 2013 would've pretty much ensured a national championship. Naturally the one year the offense is record breaking the damned defense is dog shite

Mett was our savior after the JJ years

Yeah, this something. Honestly, if people put down the irrational part of their hate for JJ, they'll realize he was at least a very serviceable QB. Objectively speaking, how many people wouldn't have been overjoyed to have JJ instead of Jennings or Harris in 2014 & 2015.

We all have expectation fatigue. Even Brennan was supposed to be this somewhat polished, nearly ready to go if not immediately QB. What we saw in his appearances was not that, good arm and lots of potential (oh no, not again) but not an SEC starter.

Here is hoping we get better than good QB play. With the RB question marks, unless one of the guys has a breakout year (quite possible), we will need that just to have a year that meets our current expectations.

That’s exactly what we got.

I disagree. I think, had he been thrown into the fire like Harris and others, he would have come out fine after a couple games. Difference is Harris and othersbsucked after splashing. Brennan I think would’ve only improved. Thankfully, we had Etling to hold down the fort more than competently.

Edit: almost forgot—the difference is Burrow spent multiple whole years under urban Meyer and looks like he’s more than ready to start.

That offense finished 35th in the country. That's pathetic when you have Beckham, Landry, Hill, Turner, and Collins as starters.

Another stupid myth.

Offense shite the bed against Ole Miss and really put the defense in a bind against Bama with turnovers and Mett being hobbled. The defense wasn’t great but it was still pretty decent. Absolutely not “dog shite”.

Look up the stats.

I'll give you that but I guess I thought closer than he was.

I didn't like much of what I saw but I do agree he looked like he was better than Harris. Unfortunately for me, I started having flashbacks of Jarrett Lee vs Alabama. I think I may have the LSU football version of PTSD

I actually think we have a wealth of more than serviceable QBs but they've just have had no real game opportunities to show that.
