King has played well as a backup shooting guard. Reed is looking better in the 2nd half. Way ahead of schedule.

And as mentioned, here comes Zipper and Mosely.

I am happy with what I have seen these last two games. Both talent and effort seem as good as we have had in the McMahon tenure.

We played like crap for damn near a quarter of this game and still put up 93. Not bad

I’m fairly happy with the game. I stated in the early thread any team who’s serious about making the tourney should win by 15+. Gotta great games like this as a buisness trip and step on their throats, this was a very positive step for us.

For a program looking to prove things are different this season that was different. ALL of McMahon’s prior LSU teams struggled in game 2. Not tonight.

The next 3 opponents are doo-doo, so we probably won’t learn much from those games. But tonight was a step in the right direction.

This is a very talented LSU team-- now we don't know yet how they'll match up vs SEC opponents, but I sense a different flow this year. Better team chemistry

Better than Givens is faint praise but I do agree. He would have started last year.

Best PG McMahon has had. Tampa plays defender and can give you 6 pts and boards . Sutton can do it all. Nwoko is showing more offense than I thought he would and Thomas has a lot to do with that plus he knows how to play defense without fouling. Good play off the bench also. McKinney had a tough game. Hopefully it’s a one off. Not sure how Zipper is having trouble seeing the court considering he played pro ball and is 22. Thought he’d be a bigger piece but still has time. Rebounding has improved. Last year they would have gotten killed on the boards against a team with that much size. Keep improving until the Texas Tech game. That will be the first test. But this was a good step forward.

What is so awesome about games like tonight is that casual fans like yours truly will most certainly be looking forward and tuning in attentively to the next game. I like what I saw tonight.

I don't remember seeing CoachMc being this energized. I think he's full in on this team.

I haven't watched the post-game presser, but he's said earlier that he was trying to construct a team --- a PG - athleticism in the front court - and perimeter wing shooters.

I know it's only an exhibition and 2 cupcakes, but I like it.

I just finished watching the presser with CoachMc.

I'm both optimistic and realistic, usually, so take this with a grain of salt.

I have a really good feeling about this team.

No. 11 is legit. You could see the difference when he was not in the game. When he went down holding his ankle I was hoping it was nothing serious - and it wasn't.

If he goes down this season might be like the other 3. But this kid really IMHO gives us a chance to make a run at the dance and sneak in there.
