Brennan is not physical enough to play in the SEC...unless in this offseason he added muscle mass...he'll get reps but he won't hold up.

I'm not so sure he won't take the starting job.

That tells me you haven't seen his pictures lately.
I don't know if it is muscle but he is big enough.

Ok comparing it to Brennan’s stats tho, like sheesh Brennan was simply balling!!

Brennan -
79-131/60.3%/1112yds/11TD-3INT

Johnson -
88-150/58.7%/1069yds/8TD-1INT

Brennan's stats are not significantly better even with four years in the program. Do you think having Marshall might have improved Johnson's stats?

I'll say it now, at some point we'll look back and say "Max Johnson was the best QB on LSU's roster in 2021."

Watch Brennan highlights from 2019 then tell me he can't run.

He carried for 41 yards in 2019 against GSU, Northwestern State, and Utah State, and minus yards this year against the SEC.

He can’t run.

Its up to the coaching staff. I wouldn't be surprised no matter who takes the field vs UCLA

I agree with this.

There are stats and there is the eye test when those stats occurred and what the competition level was.
You can’t compare MSU, Mizzou to UFs defense when UF had something to play for.
Let alone, he did that on the road.
Come on man.

To be honest TJ Finley has more potential and will be a better pro . Wait until his body and maturity evens out the position is wide open let’s see what happens.

T.Jandon will never play a down of football at LSU from here on out unless there are injuries to MB and MJ.

Strong arm. That's it.

Feet of cement that's been imbedded in molten granite.

Inaccurate passer.

Can't read defenses.

Slow information processing. (Has a known learning disability)

Will be passed up (Or already has been) by Nussmeier and will wind up in the transfer portal.......

Your one of those, that denigrates Max’s arm and accuracy. Were your eyes closed on Max’s completions in the link above.
The facts/video examples, are apparently confusing you

Solid backup who can start if Brennan misses time.

Brennan and Finley wasn’t spotted 10 turnovers in a two game span like Max. LSU’s defense was gifted so many turnovers to take pressure off of the offense and barely won those games. Max was lucky other teams fell apart down the stretch. Ole miss kept a qb in with 5 ints and they still put up 48 points. Florida threw a pic 6 and lost because of the most boneheaded play of 2020.

He might be the best option for us to win games right now but the most talented QB on the roster is Nuss

If Brennan wins the job then leaves after this year don't be surprised if Nuss beats out Max next year

It's so nice to have some options this year if things go bananas.

I'm not quite sure I completely understand this post, but for the sake of argument LSU forced 2 first half TO's vs MSU and only produced 7 points off of them (Pick 6). In the second half MSU turned the ball over on back to back possessions (back to back snaps actually). LSU was +2 in TO's (4-2) and lost. Vandy committed two TO's. Vs. Missouri LSU recovered THREE fumbles inside of Mizzou territory. In the three games Brennan started LSU forced 9 TOs was +3 in the TO battle and every one of LSU's turnover during those games were Brennan INT's

Yes, it helped that LSU's defense forced 9 TO's vs. UF and OM, but you also have to acknowledge that Johnson only turned the ball over once in those two games.

In his three starts Brennan accounted for 11 TDs to 3 TOs. In his two starts Johnson accounted for 8 TDs to 1 TO. In Brennan's three starts the avg. points against LSU was 32. In Johnson's two starts the avg points against LSU was 41. If you take out the Vandy game it was a 45 to 41 comparison. So the defense was shite in ALL of those games

You're not going to get an exact comparison because no two games, opponents, etc are the same. But I don't think it is a great argument to say Johnson had the benefit of TOs when Brennan had largely the same benefit. In fact, LSU won the TO battle in all three games Brennan started...and went 1-2. They won the TO battle in the games Johnson started and went 2-0
