The university systems should use this contract as the poster child for stupidity. He gets truckloads of money, underperforms, apparently lackadaisical and disinterested gets fired and gets his ton of money. There never was an incentive to excel.,,,the incentive was to fail. My guess is that it's about to be repeated with Kiffin.

Both cars will be out of the way early.
Hire a coach that can last 25 years ... then go after the best coordinators in football at whatever level ... pay up for the expertise that the actual staff will yield and get off this circus parade of paying a head coach an outlandish amount of money for failure.
Throwing crap on the wall and hope it sticks...nothing but a Louisiana lawyer
attempt to deflect and force Kelly to spend money in defense. Problem is that LSU is financing it with $54 mil. and the contract is likely explicit....which LSU ain't.
In all arguments since this clustermuck started ignore the value and benefits player receives by attending and participating in athletics. Tuition, books, food, medical, board are obvious ... but association, education, are values ignored because they are financially rewarded after participation but amount in some cases to millions of dollars. That deferred income is a result of talent, association, exposure, maturity and market values all developed during the college experience. The current average wage for a college graduate is $80k annually. Min pay for the NBA...$1,272,000 ... NFL $850,000 ... NHL $775,000 ... seems to me that they all do better than a accounting major. I don't feel one bit sorry for the successful athlete...they are currently over compensated.
Well let's see...his hiring of Kelly has resulted in a total embarrassment on the football field ... it makes no difference whether he cost the taxpayers any money, that's a mote point. The question and issue is his judgement ... Kelly and Jimbo are two valid points about that issue including the issues of contracts. If he wasn't held responsible for this fiasco just who is it that should be.... because somebody should have the responsibility.
The $20 mil is the first year cap ... cap means the max that the university can allocate to all athletes The cap is expected to grow by 4% per year meaning the most a univ can pay the athletes next year .$20.8 mil. The univ can pay out less but according to current rules they cannot payout more. There is no tie in between the univ money and the booster nil money ... Yet ... but it is hard to imagine that there will not be some limitation in the future.

So you all think it was a good idea to compensate those poor players who were getting screwed by the universities ... turned in to a total cesspool that's getting worse.
Former spokesman for Joe Biden...the Kamala.
This is not a very good football team ... both offense and defense..altho there are some excellent individuals. Somebody let the team get away ,,, guess who?
Hurt or not...he is a one dimensional QB and not a very good one at that.
This is not a talented team ... apparently you don't watch other teams play ... LSU doesn't hold up against OSU, Alabama, Oregon, Georgia, Indiana....just to name a few.
I'm a former lineman...in the days before the passive blocking that is taught now. I watch the OL and what I see over and over...regardless of the play called ... is the first move of the offensive line is up ... which puts the defense at the advantage at the start. If you wonder why we don't have a great running game ... look at the passive line blocking ... stand up and try to slap a 300 lb defensive lineman out of the way. Laughable coaching and truly laughable technique. The argument is that's "modern coaching theory" ... the operative word is theory ... teach the line to knock someone on their butt.
None of them are underpaid ... the real question is who is the most overpaid.
This is not a good football team on either side of the ball...they are a mediocre football team on both sides of the ball. It isn't coaching it is overall quality of players. I totally disagreed on Nuss raving going into the season and i am sticking with it...hurt or not. The Oline is truly average...somewhat effective pass blocking horrid run blocking...result...horrid run game. It takes an outstanding back to perform with this line. If people expect powerful wins from this team they are truly going to be disappointed this is a just wins it team with luck on their side..ala Saturday.

Another week off and we get in the top 10.
First they need a relevant QB and in todays age and game that's one that can use his legs and feet ... they need an offensive line of the caliber of 2019
and a defense that supports the whole team...how long does that take?
We need personnel to fit an offense ... starting with an OL.
