I quickly scrolled through this seven page thread about LSU basketball expecting to see that ChatGPT guy's opinion on this. Very strange that there isn't even one post by him in this thread. Very strange.

They haven't received the new marching orders yet. 4 guys on the roster no longer works.

I thought the new 5 for 5 rule means eligibility starts on your 19th birthday or when you enroll in college (whichever is first)

Glad you threw that in there this time, so I didn't have to come check you again.

No need to check me. I still won't believe Wade will have a good defensive team until I see a good defensive team on the floor...even with the 21-22 outlier. I'm not just assuming this team will be good defensively.

That's based upon several years of data. Not some unsubstantiated opinion. Even last year at NC State. With Wade the benefit of the doubt always lies with the offensive side of the ball. Each season I assume his team will be good offensively until proven otherwise. The opposite is true defensively.

With Mo, Niang and Ugo, along with Dessert and Ruzic, this team has the potential to be a good defensive team.

No doubt 21-22 was the outlier, but he’s smart enough to know that it traditionally it takes top 30 in offensive and defensive efficiency to win a title.

True and just because we can recognize some of the failures late in his career doesn’t mean we dislike him or don’t appreciate what he did for LSU or how good he was for a stretch. That guy seems to dislike Wade as if there’s some competition between the two.

I agree I think this might be a very balanced team in terms of offense and defense. they have the athletes to manage the opposing teams stars, and also, I think, for example, ruzic is a good defender. he stays very vertical on defense, jumping straight up with arms up. not fouling. one thing I have heard wade say in the past is its effective to not foul and simply make the shot go over your arms. let the opponent have that shot. he had stats on it.

also ruzic does have the motor to want to get the pin down or chase down block and then be fired up about it.

I think bashir is single tool player (he shoots) and otherwise doesn't do much. but he appears to be in the minority. LSU has quite a few who appear to play well on both sides. most teams have a bunch of limited-tool players

It does, but it does not take full effect until the 2027 fall semester. Until then, a player can choose to use either 5-for-5 with the age restriction or the old 5-to-play-4 without.

I go back to 1977 when I was 8, not quite Dale' beginning. I was lucky enough to discover LSU basketball right when Dale started to get us rolling.

1973 - Dale's second year - was the first in my memory I was 7. Took a while to get it going - it was Dale's 7th year before we made the post-season but it was a fun ride for a while after.

I had then and have now some problems and issues with Dale, but he and his teams gave me some great memories, will always be appreciative.
